Chapter 386

"God knows!" Lily exclaimed.

Alexander found her eye roll adorable and smiled. His joy radiated, as delightful as a spring breeze.

"All right, let bygones be bygones. Let's not talk about that anymore," he said, then caressed the top of her head. "Who called?"

With a pout, she smoothed her hair, thinking, Let bygones be bygones? He was furious yesterday! Today, he's a completely different person. However, seeing Alexander's usual self, she shrugged it off.

"Lisa called. She invited me to dinner. So, do you have any plans? If not, I'll go see her."

"Nope. Go ahead." He smiled. He had two other clients to meet, but wanted to handle his business while already in Westwood.

"By the way, you mentioned Mr. Corden?"

Lily laughed. "Did you think it was the same Mr. Corden from yesterday? That was my first thought when Lisa mentioned the name, but no, it's a coincidence. This Mr. Corden is the father of a little boy I rescued. He wants to thank me personally. Isn't it coincidental? The few Hyderland people I've met here all have the same surname. Did their whole ancestry relocate here?"

Her casual guess piqued Alexander's interest. Is "Corden" a common Hyderland surname in Westwood? Or am I being overly sensitive? he wondered.

"When did you save someone's son?" he asked, more interested in his wife's capabilities than surnames. They'd only been apart a few days, yet she'd been through so much.

"It was a coincidence. I was at a restaurant, the child had a food allergy, and I knew a little about what to do. I didn't think much of it," she explained nonchalantly. He lowered his head and kissed her. "You're amazing! What can't you do?"

"You should be asking what I can do!" she giggled, ducking his touch. "Okay, I need to confirm with Lisa and get changed."

Reaching the bedroom, she turned. "I'm not bringing you!"

Alexander clutched his chest dramatically. "Your words wound me!"

Lily laughed heartily.

Lily and Lisa planned to meet at noon. Mr. Corden, a busy man, offered to meet for lunch or dinner, preferring lunch due to an evening client meeting.

Tsk, tsk. Businessmen are masters of time management, just like Alexander. This is supposed to be a special visit, but he's squeezing in work. He even has work today! Lily mused.

Honestly, Lily didn't enjoy such social interactions. She preferred tending her flowers and herbs for her perfume.
