Chapter 349
Lily stood by the window, watching a black car approach from the darkness. It looked ordinary, even shabby, making it inconspicuous. The car sped up, screeching to a halt outside the cabin.
The door flew open, and a man practically leaped out, trotting toward the door and shouting, "Christopher?! Christopher!" Lily glanced back, instantly recognizing Leonel's panicked expression.
"Oh," she said sincerely, smiling faintly before looking down.
The man, now standing under the cabin's porch light, pounded on the door, yelling, "You idiot! Open this door! Don't you want your money?!"
Lily recognized him from his voice and build. It wasn't surprising; she knew this man was connected to the notorious kidnappers. But his arrival was far from ideal.
"Be still!" she commanded, brandishing a blood-stained knife at the three kidnappers inside. She then went downstairs and opened the door.
Hearing footsteps, Frank yelled, "Christopher, Jo, open the door!"
Lily opened the door slightly, remaining on the inner side. As Frank strode in, saying, "Take your time. You guys are", he saw Lily and froze. His eyes widened. Before he could react, Lily kicked him hard in the chest.
Bang!
A series of sharp thuds followed as Lily continued to kick him, sending him crashing into tables, chairs, and benches. Finally, he collapsed, shocked and bruised.
"Y-you! Why aren't you" Frank stammered, incredulous.
"Why am I not dead yet?" Lily grinned, casually toying with her knife. "Christopher, Leonel!"
Frank, growing increasingly uneasy, called out the kidnappers' names, struggling to rise and flee.
"Aw, do you miss them? Why don't I drag you over to them?" Lily said half-jokingly as Frank scrambled to his feet and tried to run in a different direction. Instead of chasing him, Lily picked up a stool and hurled it.
Crack! The stool struck Frank in the back, sending him sprawling as he spat blood.
Lily approached calmly, saying, "Oh, how fragile your bones are?" She bent down, looking at the prostrate Frank. "Tell me. What did you plan to do with me?"
"I-I" Frank gasped, his insides feeling as if they were shattering. Lily had already beaten him badly, but the stool made him realize he'd underestimated her. "W-Who the hell are you?!"
There's no way she's just a perfumer! That's impossible! Even with self-defense training, she wouldn't be this strong! Frank might have believed Lily was an undercover cop.
