Chapter 344
Leonel's face paled. "P-Please, don't! I'll make the call!"
Lily's curiosity was piqued by his fear. "What is this? What's in the syringe?"
Leonel remained silent, so Lily feigned another jab. He flinched. "W-Wait! I-It's a drug!"
Enraged, Lily stepped on him. "You guys are still making this?"
Leonel cried out, vomiting blood. His thoughts turned bitter: 'Why me again?!' "No, it's not ours. Our employer gave it to us. He said you'd listen if we injected you."
He coughed, spitting blood.
"Haha! He said I'd listen to you?!" Her malevolent expression resembled a demon. Her eyes gleamed with murderous intent.
"Please spare me! I don't know anything. We're just doing this for money. Besides, before we even tried to use it on you, we" Leonel wailed, fearing for his life.
She's just a little woman. How could she be so terrifying? The three grown men were utterly helpless; Lily was completely in control.
Leonel's loud cry roused Jo from unconsciousness. He frowned, the blanket sliding off his head. Then, he fell silent, stunned by the scene before him.
'What happened?'
Lily's anger flared at the sight of Jo. He had been the one who'd attempted to inject her earlierโwith more than just the drug.
"Since you're awake, I'll save the best for you," she said, walking past Leonel toward Jo.
Stunned, Jo finally shouted, "What happened to my friends?!"
Groaning, Leonel replied, "Bro, I'm mute for a while."
"Mute?" Jo, unfamiliar with the term, assumed Leonel couldn't speak. Still, how did that woman subdue all three of us so easily? She even silenced one and beat up Christopher!
He watched the needle approach. "Ms. Lily, can we talk?" He straightened, gasping for air. He knew the syringe's contents: addiction.
They'd been a gangโeating, drinking, whoring, gamblingโeverything but drugs. Drugs meant the end.
"Okay, I'd like to talk too. But your friends aren't cooperating. You seem smart. Call your boss. Let's make a deal," Lily said softly, surprisingly gentle and docile; nothing like a "total b*tch."
Jo hadn't seen her true colors yet, but Leonel had, and still couldn't believe it.
