Chapter 343
Christopher was silent, his eyes wide. Though his face remained calm, his shock was evident. He likely hadn't expected such a swift, decisive move from the petite Lily. Not only was she fast, but her attack was also unseen. "Can you tell me now? Who do you work for?"
Lily glanced at him and said nothing.
Christopher, recovering from his shock, offered a cold smile before turning away. He refused to cooperate. Undeterred, Lily walked over to him, bent down, and retrieved a phone from his person. It was fingerprint-locked, but she easily unlocked it using his finger. Disgusted, she wiped her hands on a tissue from the bedside table. As she did, she noticed a tray left by Joโa tray she vaguely remembered seeing earlier. Picking it up, she sat back down, the tray on her lap, the phone in her hand. Flipping through the call records, she said, "Let me guess. This recent contact? Not random. Your employer?"
She showed the phone to Christopher, but he remained unresponsive. His reaction, however, was inconsequential at that moment.
Lily examined the tray, noticing a needle, syringe, and a small vial. Unfamiliar with the contents, she recognized its sinister nature. Carefully, she drew the medicine into the syringe, attached the needle, and held both the syringe and phone. Approaching Leonel, she looked down at him and kicked him. "Are you dead yet?"
"Uh!" He groaned, staring at her in horror.
"If you're still alive, make a call," Lily said, shaking the phone.
"What call?" Leonel stammered.
"Call your employer. Tell him the job's done, and ask when he'll arrive."
Leonel frowned. "He can only come in two days."
"Bro!" Christopher roared, a warning to Leonel.
This reminded Lily. "Oh, right, you. Too much talking, you know?" She threatened to punch him in the throat, silencing him instantly.
Witnessing her capabilities, Leonel was speechless, too terrified to even cry out. He regarded Lily as a monster.
"Two days? That's unacceptable. It'll delay my competition," Lily mused, realizing the delay would affect the final round. She suspected the mastermind was trying to prevent her participation. A new idea formed. "Tell him something happened here. Say I died of an overdose. See if that brings him."
Leonel's eyes widened. He didn't understand. "I dare not."
"You dare not?" Lily sneered. "I didn't see you when I was drugged! You've committed countless wicked acts. I'm asking for a simple call, and you're backing down?" Leonel remained silent.
"If you don't comply, I'll give you a taste of your own medicine!" Lily gestured menacingly with the needle.
