"Will you agree to it?" Mike asked, turning to Rhea.
"How would I know if you don't tell me what the deal is?" Rhea responded, unsurprisingly unwilling to commit so readily.
Mike approached her. "I need your help rescuing Lily. I'll give you the formula if you can free her. How's that?"
Rhea's eyes widened. "Are you out of your mind?"
"Then it seems we have no deal," Mike sighed, looking regretful.
"Are you doing this on purpose?" Rhea's voice rose. "You know why they brought Lily here; there's no way I can save her. You're asking the impossible!"
Angry at his unreasonable demand and puzzled by his intentions, she considered her options. "I can't do it. Make another request."
"Why not? That's all I want," he insisted.
"I can't rescue her! How about I pay youโ" She paused, realizing his wealth, then continued, "I'll do anything except rescue Lily."
She wouldn't save Lily, even if she could.
Mike anticipated her response. He shook his head. "That's not how bargaining works."
"I just want the formula," Rhea said impatiently. "Besides, I still don't know if it's real. I'll kill you if it isn't!"
"Fine. I want my son's body, then," Mike said, lifting his chin.
Rhea was speechless. The absurdity of his request struck her. Nick wasn't even dead yet; if the experiment succeeded, Fred's soul would inhabit Nick's body. If it failed, the organization would destroy the body. There was no way to fulfill this demand.
"Well, I can't do that either," Rhea admitted, slightly embarrassed.
"What the hell is this?" Mike shook his head. "You said you couldn't save Lily, and now this. What can you do? If you're not serious, forget it."
As he started to leave, guards entered, blocking his path.
Rhea smiled, approaching him. "Do you think you can come and go as you please, Mike?"
