Rhea was stumped. "What difference does it make? Why would he lie to me about this?"
She grew impatient. "Anyway, it's not that I don't want to help you, but there's no one to rescue now. What you need to do is give me the invisibility potion formula so we can develop it and do great things together!"
She reached for Mike's phone, but he pulled it back. "I'm sorry," he said coldly. "I helped you obtain the formula to rescue my son. Since he's dead, I won't give it to you."
Rhea was shocked. "Do you still remember who youโ"
"I'm Mike, and you're my master, right?" Mike snorted. "Who do you think you are to be my master?"
Alarm rising, Rhea hesitantly asked, "Have you woken up?" Mike's reaction confirmed her fears: he was no longer under her control. She took a deep breath and stared into his eyes hypnotically. "Mike," she said profoundly, "give me your phone. I have something important to do, and I can help you. Give me your phone."
She attempted to control him again. Mike looked down at his phone hesitantly. Seeing this, Rhea urged, "Yes, that's right! Give it to me."
Mike slowly handed over the phone, then snatched it back as Rhea reached for it. "No," he said firmly. "I obtained it to rescue my son. Since you can't do anything now, why should I give it to you? Rhea, I want to make a deal with you."
Rhea noticed his newfound spirit, the look of a man awakened from a long sleep. She narrowed her eyes, abandoning her attempts to control him. Leaning back, she asked, "What kind of deal?"
"One that will get you the invisibility potion formula," Mike stated firmly, waving his phone.
"How would I know your formula is real?" Rhea scoffed, though her eyes remained fixed on his phone.
"Well, I've made my offer," Mike said, rising to leave.
Rhea quickly stood, gazing after him. "Aren't we making a deal? You haven't told me what you want. How do you know I won't agree?"
Giving up the formula was difficult, especially now. With Fred no longer in power, he could no longer threaten her if the potion failed.
