Listen to this chapter:

"What the hell?" Fred scolded. "Aren't you supposed to be experts?"

One doctor replied nervously, "Your Grace, acupuncture is a specialized practice developed by the Hylanders. We haven't been trained in it."

Fred asked coldly, "Are you saying I should find a Hyderland physician?"

The doctors exchanged hesitant glances.

Seeing this, Fred's anger flared. "Out with it!"

"Well..."

"Speak, or I'll bury you alive!"

Alarmed, a doctor blurted, "There's a so-called miracle doctor in Hyderland, but he's been a recluse for years. If we could secure his help, we might save Lily."

"A miracle doctor? I've never heard of him," Fred said, his eyes narrowed.

"He practices alternative medicine and has lived in seclusion so long, he's rumored to be dead. However, there was recent news of him, so that rumor is likely false. He has several highly skilled students, now scattered across the world, but he himself remains in Kingsland."

Fred nodded, understanding dawning. "So, if I get him here, we can save Lily?" He gestured toward the woman on the bed.

Lily's heart rate, displayed on the monitor, was alarmingly low. Fred felt a surge of both anger and anxiety. He wanted to strangle herโ€”heโ€™d encountered such stubborn women beforeโ€”but he couldn't.

"We believe the chances are high," the doctors said, their words motivated more by self-preservation than genuine optimism.

Fred's anger shifted. If Lily didn't wake, they would likely pay the price. But securing the miracle doctor bought them a chance of survival. Failure would shift the blame, potentially sparing them.

Fred understood their calculations, but Lily's life was paramount.

"Where is this miracle doctor?" he asked coldly.

"He's believed to be on an estate outside Kingsland, but the precise location is unknown. Given your resources, Your Grace, you'll surely find him," the doctor replied.

Fred looked back at them, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. These fellows know how to shift responsibility while flattering me, he thought.

He chuckled. "I'll send my men. But if anything happens to Lily before then, you'll face my wrath." He pointed at them, then left.

He didn't know if this miracle doctor truly existed, but he had to try.
