Chapter 2194
If Rhea couldn't stay, she had nowhere else to go. After some thought, she answered confidently, "I've been researching mind control."
Fred scratched his nose, frowning in puzzlement. "Mind control?"
Rhea explained, "Have you ever played with a marionette? That's the general idea."
"You're saying turning people into puppets?"
He shook his head. "What's the point?"
He wanted to take over Yudonia, even the world, but he wanted willing subjects. There was no fun if they were mere puppets.
Rhea chuckled. "I know you want willing submission, but stubborn people always exist. With R20, you can manipulate them into doing anything. They'd appear ordinary, yet you could command them. Wouldn't that be fun?"
Fred, initially uninterested, became intrigued. He imagined the queen obeying his every whim, undetected, simplifying his next steps. A smile played on his lips before he cleared his throat.
"It sounds promising, but what's the success rate? Is it still experimental, or have you succeeded? Should I wait a year?"
"No need to wait. I've already succeeded," Rhea stated confidently.
"Oh, yeah?" Fred was skeptical. "How would I know you haven't just impressed me?"
"How else did I escape Alexander and his gang?" she smirked. "I used it, of course."
Fred approached, staring intently. "You mean you've commanded someone successfully? Was it Alexander Russell?"
Rhea shook her head. "He's highly alert, strong-willed. R20 was in its early testing phase; I had to be cautious."
"Oh." Fred was somewhat disappointed. Alexander would have been a prized target.
Rhea, sensing his thoughts, continued, "Don't be disappointed, Your Grace. R20 is still in its early stages. Once perfected, we can use it on anyone."
