Spoiled by Mr. Russell, Chapter 2084

"People think I'm young and healthy," Lily began, her voice carrying a subtle note of irony. "My family's kickboxing background leads them to assume excellent physical condition. But the truth isโ€ฆ do you know why I decided to study traditional medicine?"

Her sudden outburst left the doctor puzzled. "No, I don't," he admitted, shaking his head.

"It's because I'm not healthy," Lily smiled faintly. "I wanted to study traditional medicine because of my poor health. It emphasizes holistic healing and gradual treatment, so I thought I could better care for myself."

"Perhaps it worked," she continued, "my health has been quite good recently. Don't I look healthy? Even my blood tests are normal."

The doctor and nurses subconsciously nodded, uncertain of her intentions.

"But the truth is, I'm not well," Lily confessed. "I've felt terrible, especially since having children. Never mind. You modern doctors wouldn't understand." She waved dismissively. "I don't need to tell you all this. I know my own body best. Besides, I don't have much time left, and it hardly matters."

"Ms. Christian, don't say that. You still need to take care of your health," the doctor said gently, offering a consoling tone.

Lily waved them away with a faint smile. "Go and report to your superiors."

After a lingering look, the doctor departed.

Silence descended upon the room as Lily lay quietly on the bed. She knew the doctor was right; she needed to care for her health. Otherwise, her weakness would hinder her escape.

"She said that?" Fred frowned, lost in thought. The doctor and nurses confirmed her words with repeated nods.

"What a cunning woman!" Fred chuckled, a hint of disdain coloring his amusement. "Are you sayingโ€ฆ"

He dismissed them with a wave of his hand. "How are her recent medical examinations?"

"Other than postpartum weakness, everything else is normal," the doctor replied honestly.

"That settles it," Fred declared, waving them away. "You may leave, but remember!"

"We don't know anything, haven't done anything, and haven't seen anyone!" the trio responded in unison.

Fred, his eyes slightly narrowed, ignored them as they quietly exited.

Once alone, a weak voice spoke from behind Fred. "Is it possible that what she said is true?"

"No," Fred replied firmly. "That woman is incredibly cunning. I've seen it before. She must have another trick up her sleeve. She wants you to believe she has health problems to make you give up on R10."

A hesitant voice followed, expressing doubt. "Butโ€ฆcan R10 succeed?"

Fred frowned. "What's gotten into you?"
