Spoiled by Mr. Russell, Chapter 2067

While Alexander considered visiting Rhea to inquire about Cameron's whereabouts, Cameron's personal guardโ€”an undercover operative typically unnoticed by ordinary peopleโ€”arrived. Alexander recognized him. He'd seen Marcus once or twice since becoming close to Cameron. Marcusโ€™s presence indicated news of Cameron.

Marcus glanced around and asked, "Can we speak privately?" He blended seamlessly into crowds, yet Alexander knew his formidable abilities. Marcus was not only a skilled combatant but also proficient with various weapons. His presence ensured Cameronโ€™s comprehensive protection. Therefore, Rhea's kidnapping of Cameron must have been orchestrated by Cameron himself.

Alexander nodded. "I was about to suggest that."

After dismissing the servants and Edward, Alexander led Marcus to his study, closed the door, and asked, "Is there any news about Secretary Rollins?" Marcus nodded. "Secretary Rollins sent me."

A weight lifted from Alexander's shoulders. He sighed in relief. "Where is he?"

Marcus produced an item, handing it to Alexander. "He can't come personally, but asked me to give this to you. He believes it will be helpful." Alexander stared, stunned. "This isโ€ฆ"

"He knows your intentions, but his identity and the current situation prevent him from coming. Some things only you can handle."

Alexander could almost hear Cameron's cold detachment in Marcus's words.

"Understood," Alexander said, pocketing the item and looking at Marcus. "Tell Secretary Rollins I've received and understood his message. I'll handle it."

Marcus started to leave, but Alexander called him back. "Wait. How is Cameron?"

Marcus turned, nodding slightly. "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Russell. Secretary Rollins is well, both physically and otherwise. Please be reassured."

Alexander's worry eased. Cameron had prepared well. Then, he remembered something. "Tell Cameron his daughter is in the hospital. I've made arrangements, but they shouldn't meet now due to the contagious nature of her illness. There's no immediate life threat," Alexander added. Dominic would treat Anastasia promptly, and her distance from the primary source minimized the risk of severe infection.

"Understood," Marcus replied, appearing slightly dazed. He seemed hesitant to leave. "Is there anything else?"

Alexander shook his head. "No, thank you for coming."
