"Although I haven't participated in the experiment, the drug's development has taken far too long," Rick stated bluntly. "I don't care if you're incapable or deliberately delaying, but my patience is exhausted. I want the final result by tomorrow," he added, his tone and gaze icy.

Lily frowned. Before she could respond, he continued, "Don't offer excuses. I don't care if you succeed, but I need a result by tomorrow."

"So, you don't want a result, but an excuse to kill me?" Lily retorted, a cold chuckle escaping her lips.

Rick shook his head. "I don't need an excuse to kill you, and I could do it anytime. I want the drug, and we've delayed this experiment far too many times! I want the result tomorrow. As for the boss," he paused, "I don't care."

He sneered, then walked past Mike, glancing at him. "Mr. Corden, your tricks are futile against the organization."

Mike was speechless, watching Rick disappear into the elevator. The descending elevator's slow rumble echoed in the silence.

"What do you think?" Mike asked Lily. "Does he genuinely not care about the boss's whereabouts, or is he misleading us?"

Unfamiliar with Rick, Mike couldn't decipher his intentions.

"He might not care about the boss's presence, but they're clearly planning something significant, and they're running out of time," Lily said, thoughtfully furrowing her brow. She sensed a looming urgency; the masked man's haste and Rick's accelerated deadline confirmed it.

"How can you deliver results by tomorrow?" Mike protested, aware of the experiment's complexity and Lily's repeated adjustments. He knew she had been stalling, but the experiment's difficulty was undeniable.

"Well, it's not impossible," Lily replied casually.

Mike stared, bewildered. "What are you talking about? You're kidding, right?"

"Regardless, their dwindling time is advantageous. The more rushed they are, the more likely they'll reveal their secrets," Lily mused. "What do you plan to do about the boss?"

"I need to relocate the boss," Mike frowned. "Rick should know about the secret room; he probably hasn't considered it yet. Once he does, they'll search it."

"Relocating him will only make the boss's whereabouts easier to discover," Lily countered, deeming it a poor solution.
