It was already dark when the car arrived at Dominic's house, far from the city center. The starry sky was clear and beautiful; there were no flashing lights, only peace and quiet. Elijah had already called Dominic en route. Dominic initially refused their visit, but after hearing about Rhea's death, he was shocked into acquiescence. He cautioned them against being followed and urged them not to stay long.

Their journey to the manor was uneventful; the car drove quietly and stopped at the front. As Elijah exited, he noticed an unfamiliar luxury car with an unrecognized license plate, suggesting a foreign visitorโ€”a puzzling sight given Dominic's infrequent visitors, especially at this late hour. Heeding Dominic's earlier warning against questions, Elijah suppressed his curiosity, glancing suspiciously around before following his wife into the living room.

Dominic sat alone. Even more perplexed by the presence of another car in the yard but no other guests, Elijah couldn't help but continue scanning his surroundings.

"What brings you two here at this hour?" Dominic asked, sighing as he took a sip from his cup.

"Uncle Dom, we apologize for disturbing you so late," Elijah began. "As I mentioned on the phone, this is a bizarre matter."

Dominic interrupted with a snort. "Enough! What's so strange? The only strange thing is you missing your son!" Elijah's face flushed crimson with embarrassment, but Michelle remained unfazed.

"Uncle Dom, you're right," she replied. "I do miss my son. He's a part of me, and I've always provided for him. He's never suffered before, so seeing him endure this is distressing. I don't think there's anything wrong with that feeling. I respect your rules, but I'm asking to see him more often."

Elijah, worried she might offend his uncle, called out, "Michelle..." Surprisingly, Dominic didn't anger. Instead, he looked intently at her. "If you want to see him, go ahead. You know where he is."

Overjoyed, Michelle was about to rush upstairs. "Don't wander into other rooms," Dominic added.

"Got it!" she replied, immediately running upstairs.

Elijah, also missing his son, but unable to leave Dominic alone, sat quietly, refilling his uncle's tea.

"Uncle Dom, we've troubled you greatly."

"Enough nonsense. Either leave me alone, or stop saying such things," Dominic retorted, sipping his tea. "You mentioned Rhea's death on the phone?"

Elijah, pausing mid-pour, nodded. "Yes. Reportedly an explosion. It's still under investigation."
