Chapter 1673
As Lily spoke directly, and everyone else stared, Dashiell felt humiliated, his expression turning cold. "What the hell do you mean? Lily, clarify yourself!"
"It's rather clear. Don't you understand?" Lily looked at him. "I believe you know why the mice died."
"You're saying I poisoned my mice?" Dashiell laughed coldly. "What a joke! We're in different departments; I hardly come here, let alone sabotage your experiment. Besides, your lab is locked. How could I get in?"
"Every lab in the research area has a lock, but we all have access," Lily retorted. "Why couldn't you?"
"We have access to every lab except yours," Dashiell said, frowning and stopping abruptly.
Lily smiled. "How did you know? Have you tried it before?"
"IโI heardโฆ" Dashiell looked discomposed. "Don't blame your incompetence on me! I had nothing to do with your mice dying! The problem lies with your herbal medicine!"
"Please stop evading the question. I'm asking how you know you can't access my lab. I think few here know this, am I right?"
The others exchanged glances. They genuinely were unaware. Each laboratory locked automatically upon entry or exit. Still, since the workers had registered their fingerprints and irises, they could access any laboratory except Lily's. It was unusual, a condition Lily had arranged with Dr. Blanc upon joining. One might think her paranoid, but she'd learned her lessons. Therefore, only her fingerprints and irises, and those of Dr. Blanc, could unlock her laboratory.
"I discovered it unintentionally. So what? You're accusing me just because of that?"
Upset, Dashiell said, "Fine! Since others can't access your lab, how did I get in? If I sabotaged you, how did I enter?" He had a point. Since no one else had access, he couldn't have entered, even if he knew. Lily held up her hands and smiled.
"You're right! Still, collecting a fingerprint here isn't difficult, is it?"
"Accuse me all you want, but do you have proof?" Dashiell chuckled coldly. "What a load of crap! Admit you're a charlatan. Don't you think this is an absurd excuse now that your experiment has failed?"
"Proof?" Lily raised an eyebrow and curled her lips. "I have proof!"
She retrieved her phone, tapped the screen, and played a video.
