Chapter 1438
"Yes! I wanted to tidy the place so people would feel more comfortable," Anastasia said, following Rhea's gaze around the room. "It didn't feel like it before, but after clearing the room, I feel much lighter, and the room is much more comfortable. It's a lot brighter than before, don't you think?"
Rhea raised her eyebrows, silent. Anastasia smiled.
"Oh, I forgot you don't come here often. You probably don't know what it was like before. Anyways, I like the way the house is now. Even my father said the house seems brighter, and I look more cheerful." A bright smile illuminated Anastasia's face, filled with pride and joy. The smile was almost blinding.
Cameron was a good father, a source of pride for Anastasia. Although he could have spent more time with her, he always showered her with love and affection. In contrast, Rhea's childhood was marked by her parents' frequent arguments over money and business. Whenever Anastasia visited, they treated her like royalty, ignoring Rhea entirely. Anastasia was prioritized above all else. Rhea, their biological daughter, felt consistently excluded.
Anastasia possessed a loving father, a high social standing, and the attention of everyone vying for her father's favor. People constantly sought to please her, hoping to gain her father's good graces. From a young age, Anastasia had been the center of attention, the darling of the public.
Thinking of this, Rhea tightened her grip on her glass, saying softly, "Really? I heard plants in your house are good for the body."
"Maybe," Anastasia replied with a slight smile. "But it may not be for everyone. Some people are allergic to pollen, while others sleep just fine. You take biology, Rhea. You should know more about this than I do, right?"
"I've heard of it, but I didn't go into detail," Rhea admitted, lowering her gaze to her water. "So, I can't help you with your health. I'm sorry."
Anastasia shook her head. "Don't say that! Aunt Maria has helped me so much, finding doctors and trainers, trying so many different methods, yet none of them worked. There's nothing you can do. What's more, your parents have already helped me so much. I'm very grateful."
"They did it out of love," Rhea responded flatly.
Yes, out of love. Out of love for the power wielded by Cameronโfor his money and wealth. They readily went out of their way for the Rollins family.
"Rhea, do you have a boyfriend?" Anastasia asked, tilting her head.
The question startled Rhea. She froze before shaking her head. "No."
"You're so beautiful and smart. How can no guys be chasing you? I know. You must've been rejecting them all," Anastasia said, smiling.
Rhea snorted. "Why would I need a boyfriend? I want to focus on my career! My experiments are much more interesting than guys."
"You're independent, but I think Uncle Fabian and Aunt Maria are getting anxious."
Rhea frowned irritably. "That has nothing to do with me. I'm the one who will be getting married, not them." She stood, seemingly finished with the conversation, and approached Anastasia. "What's wrong? You seem a lot better. Is someone treating you? Is it Lily Christian?"
Rhea studied Anastasia's changed complexion.
