Chapter 1432
"It's fine. The bed is big enough for me. Besides, a little exercise is good."
Lily continued, not giving Daisy a chance to reply, "Go to the guest room. I'll be with Galen tonight. We'll discuss this further when Alex returns." She decisively entered Galen's room.
Daisy, unable to argue, stood silently at the door for a moment before saying, "Goodnight, Madam!"
"Goodnight."
Lily nodded and closed the door.
Rhea slept all day and awoke only in the evening. After showering and changing, she went downstairs. Maria, hesitant to disturb her, was relieved to see her.
Maria's face brightened. "Ree, you're awake! Just in time! Come, let's eat!"
"Okay," Rhea murmured, seating herself at the dining table. The maids served the meal.
Fabian frowned. "Aren't you going to invite us to eat?"
"Invite who?" Rhea asked casually, reaching for some vegetables.
"Who else but your mother and me?!" he roared, his anger rising.
He knew Rhea's future was brightโshe excelled in her studies and workโbut he felt she was becoming increasingly impolite, particularly her indifference toward her parents. It would be difficult for any prospective in-laws to accept a daughter from a renowned family who was not only older than most but also rude.
"What about them?!" Fabian gestured toward the maids.
The maids remained silent.
"You're deliberately defying me, aren't you?" he growled, putting down his bowl. "Is this how you treat your father?"
Rhea also put down her bowl and met his gaze firmly. "How am I supposed to act?"
"Rhea Moore, don't think you can lord it over us just because you've won a few awards. I am your father!" Fabian slammed his spoon down angrily.
Maria quickly intervened. "All right, enough. Ree just returned after a long time. Let's let it go for now."
"It's a miracle she's back, is it? Should I kneel and thank her for returning?" Fabian's anger shifted to his wife.
Before Maria could respond, Rhea slammed her spoon on the table. "Since it's no big deal, I'll leave!" She stood and walked out.
"Ree! Ree!" Maria anxiously wanted to follow, but her husband's anger held her back. She couldn't understand their sudden conflict.
As Rhea left, she looked back and said coldly, "You always vent your anger on your own family. If you're so capable, why don't you take it out on Cameron?!" She left without hesitation. Fabian nearly exploded. His breathing grew shallow as he clutched his chest.
Maria could only attend to her husband. "Calm down! Don't be angry!!!"
