Chapter 1292

His body spun uncontrollably, his arm twisted painfully behind him. Grimacing, he feared it might break if she continued. Besides being pregnant, she was doing this one-handed.

Austin's eyes widened in terror. He still refused to believe it, yet he couldn't move his arm.

"Lily Christian! How dare you try to hurt me?!" he yelled, waving his free hand wildly, attempting to escape her grasp. But Lily, with a sharp gaze and swift movements, easily dodged him, raising her leg. With a single, swift motion, she released his wrist.

A force slammed into his stomach, sending him sprawling forward. He hit the ground hard, crying out as dust erupted around him.

"Mr. Fike, I think your memory needs a check-up," Lily said, leaning against the door, looking down at him. "Wasn't it you who tried to grab me first? My advice? See a doctor. After all, doctors can't heal themselves!"

With that, she slammed the door shut.

Austin stared at the closed door, dumbfounded. Shame and annoyance warred within him. Never had he been so humiliated. He'd been ejected, thrown onto the street by a woman. "Lily!" Clenching his fists, he yearned to smash the door down.

But his reputation demanded discretion. He couldn't do that in public. Shamefacedly, he rose and brushed himself off. Then, he glared at a surveillance camera, pointing a finger. "Watch out, Lily! Think this experiment will fail without your shoddy data? Get down from your high horse. You've been in the lab for months and still haven't succeeded. You can't do this experiment, but I, Austin Fike, can!"

He turned and stormed away.

Lily, just reaching the lounge, heard his voice from the monitor. She was unsure how to react.

Olivia, meanwhile, was rolling on the floor, laughing. "Who is this guy? He's hilarious! Such a fool!" She was snacking and packing when a loud noise from the monitor startled her. Looking up, she saw Lily ejecting him.

It had been a long time since Olivia had seen Lily so angry. The man looked like a gentleman. What had he said to provoke such a reaction?

He was also rather foolish, though. With the door closed, he'd chosen to address the surveillance camera instead. His harsh words were undercut by his embarrassing appearance.

"You're right," Lily said, glancing at the monitor before switching it off. "He is a fool!"

While she dismissed Austin's words, his comment suggested the experiment was ongoing, and she knew they wouldn't stop it. But Austin knew medicinal herbs. How could he be unaware if the herbs were poisonous? Did he intend to continue, even knowing this?
