Chapter 1268

"Just what kind of person has won the old man's favor?" Austin checked his watch. "He stayed even longer than I did!"

Back home, Lily parked her car and noticed a box in the yard. It was neither large nor small, and looked like a gift. She detected a strong aroma without even approaching it.

"What's this?" Intrigued, she pointed at the box.

"Ma'am, Ms. Rollins sent someone to deliver it; she said it's a present for you," the housekeeper replied, hurrying over.

"Ms. Rollins? Which Ms. Rollins?" Unsure who it was, Lily approached the box but didn't open it immediately. She wouldn't until she knew its origin. "The person only said it was from Ms. Rollins and left a message."

Many people sought to send Alexander gifts, due to his stature, but he refused them all. Some tried sending gifts to Lily instead, but she returned them. Over time, such gifts became rare. The delivery person simply leaving a message wasn't unusual; the housekeeper left the box for Lily to decide what to do.

"What was the message?" Lily asked, considering the situation.

The housekeeper quickly responded, "The person said Ms. Rollins wanted to thank you for the dress and hoped you'd accept her gift in return."

Lily recognized the sender. "Ah, it's Anastasia."

She hadn't expected a return gift so soon. Knowing the source, Lily untied the ribbon and opened the box. She was astonished by its contents: a plant, meticulously and safely packaged.

The housekeeper stood beside her, puzzled. "Why would Ms. Rollins send something like this?"

However, Lily's initial surprise quickly turned to elation. She circled the plant several times, clearly delighted. Her work involved many plants, and the housekeeper knew of her fondness for them. Yet, she'd rarely seen Lily so thrilled.

"Ma'am, what is it?" the housekeeper asked curiously.

Before Lily could answer, a car approached, and Alexander arrived. He got out and walked toward her. Seeing her joy, his own spirits lifted. "What's made you so happy?"

"Look!" She beckoned him closer, eagerly turning to show him the plant.
