Chapter 1206

After several years of training, my trainer told my grandfather to take me home, saying he could teach me no more. Before I left, he gave me a box of meditation books, asking me to read them at my leisure.

Alexander paused, then continued, "After reading those books, I gradually understood that the key to kickboxing is mental strength. No matter how important the techniques are, the mind is paramount. Surprisingly, these meditation books sometimes offered insights applicable to both kickboxing and business."

Lily chuckled, "So, you almost became a Zen master of meditation instruction?"

If he had, he likely wouldn't have met her.

To her surprise, Alexander nodded thoughtfully. "I almost did."

Laughing, she playfully swatted him.

Lily then relayed Alexander's message to Heather.

The shock rendered Heather speechless. Her face flushed, then paled, then darkened.

Lily understood that while she found it easy to accept, it was a devastating blow to Heather. Heather struggled to reconcile this revelation with her lifelong belief in the secret handbook.

"I know this is hard to believe, butโ€ฆ" Lily paused, speaking slowly, "Alex wanted me to tell you that you're already strong enough. There will always be those who surpass us, in business or kickboxing. You don't need to strive to be the best, especially in the modern world."

"He thinks I'm already very successful. Doesn't he believe ensuring a good life for the Riggs family is far more meaningful than chasing the dream of being world champion?" Heather was stunned.

"Alexander wanted me to tell you that?"

"Yes."

"He knew why I sought you out?"

Lily nodded slightly. "He suspected. That fake handbook wouldn't harm anyone. If you're patient enough to study it, it might even improve your self-control and, perhaps, indirectly, your kickboxing skills."

"I sensed something was amiss, but it was too late." Agitation overcame Heather, and she began coughing violently.

The coughing fit left her face flushed. Alarmed by the noise, Chump hurried in. "Ms. Riggs!"

"Who told you to come in? Get out!" Heather coughed, but Chump ignored her, rushing to offer a glass of warm water. Heather accepted it. After a time, she drank half the glass, her breathing easing, though she remained pale.
