Chapter 1197
Lily had met Chump twice before. She knew he was always with Heather and was a skilled, if hidden, kickboxing master. Although he tried to conceal his vitality, she sensed his considerable ability. Still, her impression of him remained faint due to his infrequent presence.
"Mr. Russell," Chump greeted respectfully, stepping forward. He then turned to Lily. "Mrs. Russell, Ms. Riggs has invited you to visit tomorrow."
Lily was stunned. "Me?"
Initially, she assumed Chump's visit concerned Alexander, so Heather's invitation to her surprised her. Alexander shared her astonishment.
"Only her?" Alexander asked, his question subtly implying whether they were both invited. Even if only one were invited, Alexander seemed the more likely candidate. After all, Heather typically communicated with him directly on business and other matters. There was little they could discuss besides kickboxing.
"Yes," Chump replied, nodding.
Alexander lowered his gaze. "Tell her we aren't going."
His response didn't surprise Lily; she was becoming accustomed to his protectiveness, though she sometimes found it excessive. Ultimately, his actions stemmed from his concern for her well-being.
"Ms. Riggs said she has no ill intentions and that you, Mr. Russell, shouldn't worry," Chump continued, relaying Heather's anticipation of Alexander's refusal and her instructions on persuading the couple.
"If Ms. Riggs has no ill intentions, she can come here anytime. We have none either," Alexander declared, spreading his hands in a gesture of openness. Chump pursed his lips. "It's... inconvenient for Ms. Riggs to come here."
"More inconvenient than a pregnant woman? It seems Ms. Riggs isn't sincere about meeting us at all," Alexander stated coldly. "You may leave now."
"Ms. Riggs has no other choice. Mrs. Russell, you'll understand once you visit her. Ms. Riggs means no harm!" Chump insisted, lowering his head, yet showing no sign of leaving, seemingly determined to achieve his objective.
Alexander's expression hardened; he disliked being pressured. Just as he was about to dismiss Chump again, Lily took his hand. "What time should I meet her tomorrow?"
Chump looked up. "Around ten in the morning. Any time convenient for you will work."
Their flexibility contrasted sharply with Heather's usual forceful manner. Lily pondered this before asking, "I heard she's returning home tomorrow. Ms. Riggs has a plane ticket, right? Meeting late might delay her."
Heather's travel plans weren't a secret; they knew Ralph would accompany her back to the Riggs Estate.
Initially, they suspected ulterior motives behind Heather's invitation. However, Lily wondered if Heather was simply concerned about missing her flight. How can Heather be so flexible about the time?
"You'll learn more when you meet Ms. Riggs," Chump said hesitantly. "Ms. Riggs promised she won't harm you. She wishes to discuss some things."
