Chapter 1180
"Of course!" Hannah exclaimed. "I am a person who keeps my promises and values my relationships, unlike some who hurt others under the guise of being relatives."
She glanced at Alexander and continued, "Since Ralph is no longer a Russell, my marriage to him has nothing to do with you. I hope you will stop bothering me about this in the future, Mr. Russell. I'm very busy." She stood, attempting to dismiss him.
However, Alexander remained seated, a smirk playing on his lips. "Ms. Riggs, you must be tired after speaking for him, but wouldn't it be more appropriate if he spoke to me himself?"
"He doesn't want to talk to you, and you're not qualified to speak to him!" Hannah retorted coldly. "Please, leave!"
"If that's the case, you wouldn't have been hiding him for so long, am I right, Uncle?" Alexander's voice rose, revealing Ralph's presence.
Ralph was dumbfounded, sweat beading on his back. He hadn't expected Alexander to see him, even from such a distance. He debated whether to reveal himself or remain hidden. Hannah, startled by Ralph's unexpected appearance, frowned, noticing his absence from the stairs.
"What nonsense are you spouting? I said he doesn't want to see you..."
"You can't sense him from here? Your skills have regressed, Ms. Riggs," Alexander insinuated. The simple sentence nearly suffocated Hannah. Unlike her sister, who knew kickboxing, she lacked the ability to sense people's presence; a skill Heather possessed.
At that moment, Ralph slowly descended the stairs, his gaze lowered, hand resting on the handrail.
"You called me 'Uncle.' Does that mean you still acknowledge me as a Russell?"
"As long as you're Grandma's son, you'll always be my uncle. That won't change unless Grandma disowns you," Alexander replied. "My mother..." Ralph paused, gathering his composure. "Your grandmother... Does she still see me as her child?" He sneered, skeptical. "That woman only cares about her grandson. Why would she care about me? Didn't she already make up her mind at the family meeting?"
"If it weren't for your insistence, she would have never said it. Grandma isn't doing it for your sake or mine. It's for the whole family's sake," Alexander said, meeting Ralph's gaze.
Ralph sneered again. "The whole family's sake? That's a term you guys throw out often. Who am I to the Russells? I wasn't born a Russell, so why are you pretending I am?"
"If Grandma didn't see you as her son, she would have called the police as soon as you burned the house down."
Ralph's hands trembled. He forced calm, retorting, "I don't know what you're insinuating."
"The whole place has surveillance cameras. I still have the footage at home. Do you want to watch it with me?" Alexander said coldly. "Arson is not a small crime."
Ralph's hair stood on end, his grip tightening on the handrail. "You're trying to push me to a dead end!"
"The house is still under Ralph's name. So what if he burns his own house? Even if you want to take away his property, you'll have to go through the legal procedures, and you haven't, right?!" Hannah interrupted sharply.
