Chapter 190

Suddenly, two figures walked past outside. Christine abruptly tugged on Seline’s hand, pointing at Suzanne, who was seated indoors. “Look, Seline! Isn’t that Suzanne?”

Seline was shocked. She immediately turned to look inside and saw only two people in the spacious dining hall—Suzanne and a man with impeccable poise. They were seated across from each other, with Suzanne directly in their line of sight.

“What is she doing here?” Seline muttered.

The hall had been cleared of unused tables and chairs and was decorated romantically. The two were clearly having a candlelit dinner. Seline’s hand on her purse tightened instantly.

“That bitch! What made her think she could dine with such an outstanding man? How could she have the cheek to enjoy such wonderful things?”

Seline had been too afraid to leave home recently, fearing Todd’s revenge, but look at Suzanne!

“Did she hook up with some powerful man, Seline? This doesn’t seem right,” said Christine.

Seline frowned and replied, “Let’s go in and take a look. I can’t bear to watch Suzanne fall for a trap.”

Besides that, she also very much wanted to know the identity of the man and if he was a boy toy Suzanne was secretly keeping. She was the Vates family’s true daughter. All the exceptional men had to belong to her, not Suzanne.

Quickly, the two entered the restaurant. As the waiter was about to stop them, Seline said, “That’s my sister. We’re here together.”

The waiter paused, and Seline and Christine seized the moment to quickly enter. Suzanne saw them approaching, and her expression darkened slightly.

Also, wasn’t the woman whose seat was linked with Seline’s—Christine—the one who had relentlessly egged Seline on when they were buying emeralds in the mall previously? For Seline to still have that deadweight around, despite that… how interesting.

Suzanne took a sip of red wine, thinking it tasted pretty good. She completely ignored them.

At the same time, Seline and Christine had made their way to Austin. He was dressed in a bespoke designer suit, which highlighted his lanky, commanding stance. His every movement exuded noble sophistication. His chiseled jawline, deep, sensual eyes, tall, sculpted nose, and thin lips oozed allure and charm. He looked like someone straight from a picture book, yet had an air of extreme superiority.

A look of adoration flashed in Seline’s eyes as she enviously thought, “How did Suzanne, that bitch, find herself such a man?”

Christine upped the ante, giddily whispering to Seline, barely suppressing her excitement, “This man is so handsome, Seline! He’s so hot I can barely keep my legs closed!” The calculated demeanor Seline had formed faltered on her face.

How could Christine be so crude and embarrassing? If he overheard Christine, it would tarnish her reputation as well. The more they fancied men like this, the more bashful and demure they had to be. How dare she act like she hadn’t had a man in ages? How humiliating.

Christine clamped her mouth shut when she finally realized something wasn’t right with Seline’s expression, but her gaze never left Austin. Seline loosened her tight grip on her bag as a smile spread across her delicate face. She took a step forward and exclaimed gently, “Never thought I’d see you here too, Austin.”

Austin’s expression darkened immediately. A wave of icy air exploded from him, causing Seline and Christine to shiver subconsciously. Suzanne merely swirled the wine glass in her hand; she didn’t respond to Seline. Her expression remained indifferent as she completely disregarded the two.

Seline didn’t flinch. Instead, she suppressed her tears as she walked toward Suzanne and took a seat beside her on the chair. She smiled at Austin and, turning to Suzanne, asked sweetly, “Is this your boyfriend, Suzanne? What’s his name? Could you introduce us?”
