Chapter 172
William’s eyes widened in terror as he watched the scene unfold. His voice trembled as he shouted, “Y–You just killed him!”
Samuel’s face turned deathly pale. His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor. With that needle going in, Fabian was as good as dead.
Panic flashed across Nate’s face. He grabbed his walkie-talkie and barked, “Grands! Get in here and seize them!”
In an instant, the atmosphere turned razor-sharp with tension.
Austin’s brows furrowed slightly, his gaze darkening as he stared at the onlookers. Yet, he didn’t move an inch from Suzanne’s side, remaining standing firm as a shield between her and the others.
Aaron quickly stepped forward, his tone calm as he said, “Mr. Ziegler, we’d never harm Mr. Zander.” His voice carried absolute sincerity.
At Suzanne’s other side, Tasmine stood tall, unfazed by the bodyguards now crowding the doorway. There wasn’t even a flicker of fear in her expression, nor did she back down. Her gaze swept across the room before she spoke, each word carrying weight. “The Hall family doesn’t make empty promises. If she weren’t capable, do you think I’d vouch for her recklessly?”
Nate’s expression darkened. His fists were clenched at his sides as he gritted his teeth, his glare fixed on Austin and the others. Meanwhile, Suzanne worked in silence, her lips curving slightly as her hands moved faster. She pierced the needles with ease. Samuel and William could only watch, utterly dumbfounded. Their eyes were filled with disbelief.
Suddenly, Samuel’s hand shot up. It trembled as he pointed at Fabian on the bed. “Will, look. H–He’s fine!” he exclaimed.
William’s jaw dropped at the sight, but no words came out of his mouth.
The next second, Fabian slowly stretched his body while exhaling a long, relieved sigh. His voice was weak but steady, “Finally, the pain is easing.”
On the monitor beside him, his heart rate was seen stabilizing.
Nate stood frozen in place. Then, realization dawned, and his face lit up with astonished joy. “Mr. Zander, you… You’re—”
Before he could finish, the bodyguards poured into the room, filling every available space. Dead Franklin scanned the scene, his voice sharp and commanding. “Mr. Ziegler, who do you want us to chase out?”
The sudden question sent a jolt through Fabian, making his chest tighten. His heart monitor spiked again.
Suzanne’s expression darkened. “Everyone—out,” she snapped. It had taken everything to stabilize Fabian, and in one careless moment, they had nearly undone all her work.
Nate didn’t hesitate. He rushed forward, waving frantically at the guards. “Everyone. Get out now.” He feared that if they wasted even a second, Fabian’s condition would deteriorate again.
The bodyguards exchanged glances at his instruction, but Brad had no choice but to lead his men back outside.
Suzanne’s gaze then turned to Austin, her voice growing softer as she said, “Austin, you guys should wait outside. This will take some time.” The shift in her demeanor—from her commanding presence just moments ago to the calm and measured tone—was striking.
Vastine arched a brow before tugging on Aaron’s sleeve, whispering, “Let’s go. We shouldn’t get in her way.”
Saron nodded. Now that the immediate danger had passed, there was no reason to stay. The couple turned and walked out first.
Ausin studied Suzanne for a moment before speaking in a low, steady voice. “Call me if you need anything.” With that, he turned and left.
Finally, Suzanne turned to Nate. The moment their eyes met, he immediately lowered his head respectfully. “Please continue. If you need anything, just say the word.” Then, he turned to William and Samuel, silently signaling for them to leave.
If this had been earlier, they might have tested her. But after what they had just witnessed, there was no room for doubt.
Just as they were about to slip out, Suzanne’s voice rang out again. "Enjoy Ad-Free..."
