Chapter 363

Josie followed Sean all the way back to the Reedshaw family. As they entered, Sean was still holding her hand.

“Sean?” Josie tugged her hand, subconsciously wanting to pull it away.

Though the joy in her heart was undeniable, her deep-seated inferiority complex left her without the courage to appear before the Reedshaw family holding Sean’s hand.

She believed that she wouldn’t be the ideal daughter-in-law in the eyes of Sean’s parents.

Sean didn’t allow her to pull away. “What are you panicking about?”

He stopped and moved closer to her. “You’ve already met the Reedshaw family, why are you still nervous?”

He raised his hand and smoothed her hair. “Don’t be afraid, I’m here!”

He insisted on holding her hand as they walked into the house.

Josie was terrified, fearing she would be disliked.

But when the family saw them, they didn’t act any differently. It was as if they hadn’t even noticed they were holding hands.

“Welcome back.” Elliot seemed to have just come out of the garage, likely just returning from work. “Let’s go in and eat!”

When the two entered the house, Claire’s family of three and Patti Reedshaw were already there.

Patti waved at Josie. “Come sit next to me. I made your favorite pulled pork today. Make sure to eat plenty later.”

“Okay.” Josie’s eyes curved into crescents, her nervousness completely disappearing.

She was enveloped by a wave of warmth, making her incredibly happy.

She said, “Thank you, Patti!”

She obediently sat beside Patti. Sean sat down next to her.

Halfway through the meal, Delilah said, “The Reedshaw family has a tradition. Each generation’s inheritor has to take on a disciple.

“Unlike a regular student, this disciple must formally apprentice according to the Reedshaw family rules, perform the apprenticeship ceremony, and be registered in the Reedshaw family tree.

“This disciple will be the sole disciple of the Reedshaw family inheritor, also known as their last disciple. This disciple bears the mission of passing down Reedshaw family medicine and also enjoys corresponding rights!

“As the 106th generation inheritor of the century-old Reedshaw family medicine, I wish to pass on my knowledge, including the entirety of Reedshaw family medicine, to Josie.

“Josie, are you willing to formally become my disciple and become a true inheritor of Reedshaw family medicine?”

“…” Josie nervously stood up abruptly. “Yes, I am willing. Professor, what should I do?”

She grabbed the cup from the table and raised it towards Delilah.

Due to nervousness and quick movements, the drink spilled all over her hands.

Everyone at the table laughed.

“Silly girl!” Sean grabbed her hand, wiping it with a tissue as he spoke. “You’re not scalded, are you?”

Josie’s face flushed crimson, and she looked at the people at the table with embarrassment, “No.”

“Sit down!” Sean pulled her down. “Aunt just wants to confirm your intention again.

“The Reedshaw family values willingness when accepting disciples. We don’t believe in coercion.

“As for what you have to do…”

He glanced at Patti!

Patti nodded at him.

He cleared his throat and looked seriously at Josie. “We will prepare for the apprentice acceptance ceremony.

“Prior to that, you must first learn the Reedshaw family rules, understand the Reedshaw family precepts, and grasp the rights, obligations, and responsibilities.

“You also have to learn the missions as a successor to the Reedshaw Medicine legacy.

Josie shook her head. “You are all good people, and I suppose your rules are good too. I grew up wild and free, and what I lack most is discipline.

“Professor is willing to accept me as a disciple, not minding my foolishness, ignorance, or lack of proper etiquette.
