Chapter 312
Emotions could be so unpredictable. Josie was startled by the frantic pounding in her chest.
She entered Delilahโs office as if escaping something, not daring to look back.
She couldnโt allow herself these reckless fantasies. Sean only saw her as a little sister. How could she be so presumptuous as to develop feelings for him?
'This is completely inappropriate. Given my status, how can I possibly dare to like someone as privileged as the prince โ like Sean?' she thought.
Watching her hurried retreat, Sean fell deep in thought. โDid the little girl notice something? I might have gotten a bit too close just now. Oh, I lost control for a moment.โ
Sean, concerned that he might have startled Josie, quickly followed her into the room, intending to offer an apology.
Upon entering, Josie appeared calm and composed, showing no signs of being frightened. She was attentively listening as Delilah assigned her homework.
Sean found a place to sit by himself and waited for the two of them to finish speaking.
โThis semester, you will directly enroll in the third-year coursework. If you successfully pass, you will complete all undergraduate requirements for the acupuncture major next semester.
โIf your progress remains strong, I will arrange for you to intern at Aloville Traditional Medicine Hospital during the final half-semester. This will provide you with increased patient contact and enable you to transform theoretical knowledge into practical skills.โ
Delilah was developing a career plan for Josie.
She added, โOf course, this is just my suggestion. If you donโt want to or have other ideas, just let me know.โ
Josie looked down at the course schedule Delilah had given her. โIโm willing, but I did promise to pursue a double major. During the finals period, I might need a few days off to take my cytology exams.โ
Delilah frowned slightly. โYou were able to achieve first place in your grade last semester because you had studied the fourth-year material ahead of time. However, from now on, your efforts must be focused on acupuncture.
โFrom my perspective, and considering the intensity of the course schedule I have arranged for you, I do not believe you have the energy to also pursue another major. You need to decide which degree to prioritize.โ
Josie looked determined. โI believe I can handle both majors. After all, Iโve already studied cytology up to the third year of graduate school. I believe getting a bachelorโs degree wonโt be a problem. I promise it wonโt interfere with my acupuncture studies. Please, let me take the exams.โ
โThird year of graduate school?โ Delilah was slightly surprised. โI underestimated you.โ
She smiled and said, โAs the exam approaches, I will ask Professor Hacker to prepare several sets of cytology review materials for you. Make time to go through them several times when you can.โ
โThank you!โ Josie felt a sense of relief.
She had been worried Delilah would oppose her commitment to the double major. After all, Delilahโs goal was clear: to take on a final disciple, fully dedicated to inheriting her knowledge of acupuncture.
Josie learned from Zoey that while the Reedshaw family heir may have many students, there was only one true disciple.
The first and last, the one who would learn the complete Reedshaw medical and acupuncture techniques.
That disciple was originally meant to be Claire, but Josieโs arrival had led Claire to step aside. Now, Delilah was investing all her energy into Josie.
For Josie to give up halfway or have ulterior motives would be a betrayal of that trust, especially since Delilah had given her a choice.
Josie would never hurt Delilah, much less betray her.
โGo ahead. If you have any questions about your studies, feel free to come to me at any time.โ Delilah handed the organized study materials to Josie.
Josie took it, put it into her backpack, and walked out.
โWait for me outside. I need to talk to you!โ Sean called out to her.
Josie felt a bit guilty and didnโt dare look at him. She lowered her head, staring at her feet. 'Oh, hurry up. I have another class soon!'
It was a flimsy excuse to make a quick escape.
