Chapter 291

โ€˜It hasnโ€™t been long since she started working on this, and sheโ€™s already got research results. Her paper even got a foreword from Professor Longley.โ€™

โ€œAt such a young age, sheโ€™s gotten so many things that shouldnโ€™t be hers. Doesnโ€™t she worry about being overwhelmed by all these things she doesnโ€™t deserve?โ€

Audrey walked into the office with an angry expression.

In the office, David, along with Aiden and Gavin, had been waiting for a long time.

Jeremy entered, yawning. โ€œDirector, I was up all night just yesterday. What kind of matter made you drag me in today?โ€

He couldnโ€™t understand why they had to do this right now.

The director looked puzzled. โ€œStaying up late to conduct experiments?

โ€œYou know, at your age, why push yourself so hard? Canโ€™t you let those new interns keep an eye on the experiments?โ€

Jeremy waved his hand and said, โ€œIt is not about the experiment. It concerns the paper.

โ€œI have been occupied and unable to supervise them. Last night, I set aside some time to help them revise their paper.

โ€œBy the way, have you seen the paper? What do you think? Itโ€™s pretty good, isnโ€™t it?

โ€œSee, I told you Joseph is a promising kid, and Josie, too. Theyโ€™re the future rising stars of our medical community!โ€

David could not bear to listen any longer and sneered, โ€œArenโ€™t you giving these students too much credit? They have only produced two introductory research papers.

โ€œDo such works truly warrant prefaces from distinguished figures like Mr. Longley and Professor Reedshaw?

โ€œAre you not concerned that any errors might cause the two esteemed experts to lose face?โ€

Jeremy wasnโ€™t happy. โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong with this research paper? Thatโ€™s still the achievement of several kids.

โ€œEven if itโ€™s embarrassing, weโ€™re happy to do it. Professor Lawson, if you want to, you can try as well. What a pityโ€ฆโ€

He thought, โ€˜You do not possess even the preliminary research findings!โ€™

Josie could barely hold back her laughter.

She thought, โ€˜Jeremy is usually so rigid and serious, never one for arguments. However, this is exactly the type who, when he finally does deliver a zinger, makes it all the more satisfying.โ€™

David was completely shut down, his face turning a dark purplishโ€“red, yet he could not utter a single word.

Noticing that they couldnโ€™t gain the upper hand on the current topic, Audrey promptly reminded him, โ€œDavid, donโ€™t argue with them about this.

โ€œTalk about the research methodology!โ€

David also appeared to realize the purpose of their visit.

He said, โ€œSetting aside the authenticity of the research findings in your paper, I just want to know exactly how the research methods mentioned in your paper were discovered and applied.โ€

Josie thought, โ€˜The audacity to boss people around here!โ€™

Josie was seething with anger and just wanted to yell at David.

โ€œDirector, who is this?โ€ Jeremy looked as though he had forgotten.

The director, who was known for his good temperament, said, โ€œDavid Lawson, a research professor collaborating with us. You have met him before, havenโ€™t you?โ€

โ€œSo itโ€™s Professor Lawson!โ€ Jeremy adjusted his glasses.

He added, โ€œI thought that someone from higher up had come to check the authenticity of our paper, suspecting that we had falsified it.

โ€œIn other words, what right do you have to ask me a question like that?โ€

When it came to provoking, no one could surpass Jeremy. Josie truly could not hold back; her shoulders trembled slightly.

David had simply spent too long in a position of authority and had become accustomed to constant praise.

But this wasnโ€™t his school, and Jeremyโ€™s status was even higher than his in this institution, so David had no right to act so arrogantly.

โ€œOf course not!โ€ The corners of the directorโ€™s mouth also lifted.

He explained, โ€œActually, Professor Lawson and his team have filed a patent application for a research method, which appears to be similar to your teamโ€™s approach, soโ€ฆโ€

Jeremy gave a slight twitch of his lips and picked up where the director left off. โ€œSo what? Surely youโ€™re not suspecting us of having stolen their research methods?

โ€œThis is a huge joke. Our research methodology was established at the beginning of the year.

โ€œThe success of the experiments and the research results presented in the paper rely entirely on this methodology.

โ€œMay I ask, when were the research methods discovered by Professor Lawson and his team? Why is the patent application made so urgently? Has the method been validated yet?

โ€œYou say it has been proven that this research methodology is genuinely effective and can achieve certain research results.

โ€œSo, does that mean your research has also succeeded? Yet not even the slightest bit of news has come out.

โ€œProfessor Kingberg, why are you all being so sneaky?โ€
