David was downright furious. โThatโs enough! Let her move them. Anything she has left in the team that belongs to her, let her take it all.โ
โI will take it that she has never been my student.โ His icy gaze swept over Josie with outright disdain.
Josie gave an indifferent smile. โThank you, Professor Lawson. I will check carefully and make sure I leave no trace of myself in the team, so as not to be an eyesore to you.โ
Even though he lost the bet, David still made himself out to be so righteous. He was truly selfish to the extreme and never missed a chance to burnish his own reputation.
The moment David gave his order, Josieโs group was able to enter unimpeded.
Josie scanned the shelves. โAll those folders with red labels contain the materials I gathered. May I have everybodyโs help to take them down?โ
Everyone present followed her gaze. Shelving racks lined three walls from the floor to the ceiling, and about one-third of the shelves were occupied by folders with red labels.
โShe gathered so much material on her own?โ Natalie found it hard to believe.
Jaden also thought it was incredible.
โJosie, if you want to steal our materials, thereโs no need to resort to such tactics. Prof may be magnanimous enough not to hold it against you, but we certainly wonโt let you get away with it."
โVincent, Gavin, and Natalie, all of you help me check. I donโt believe that all these folders with red labels are Josieโs stuff.โ Jaden anxiously hurried to the shelving racks.
โJosie, just you wait. Iโm going to expose your lies. That will teach you!โ
Josie thought to herself smugly, โDumb yet loves to show off. Oh, well, since you want to embarrass yourself, be my guest!โ
She then turned to Sean and the rest. โSean, can you and the others help me keep an eye on them so that they donโt try any dirty tricks?โ
โGot it.โ Adeline and her companions rushed up to stand guard behind Gavinโs group, watching intently as they opened the folders.
Meanwhile, Josie went up to Natalie. โSince you donโt believe me, you can go ahead and check every document folder inside. However, I donโt trust you either, so every folder you open must be viewed by both of us at the same time.
โIf both of us have not checked a folder concurrently, I will not entertain any disputes for that folder, regardless of its content.โ
Natalie turned purple with rage. โYouโฆ What right do you have to doubt me? What makes you think I am not trustworthy?โ
Josie couldnโt help but laugh. โHah! You should ask what is trustworthy about you.
โThe full spectrum starting from plagiarism! Seriously, are you not aware of all the things youโve done? Natalie Kinberg, donโt take others for fools. You may be able to fool an idiot like Jaden Monroe, but not me!
โFrom the day you crossed me, I was destined to become your nightmare. Just wait. Your troubles are only beginning. Letโs see what kind of wonderful life you will lead. Hahaโฆโ
Josie spoke in a low voice that was audible only to Natalie. To others, it appeared as though the two were engaged in a private chat and enjoying themselves since Josie was smiling away.
Only Natalie knew how Josieโs seemingly warm smile was sending chills down her spine. โNo, that is impossible. Josie must be deliberately trying to bluff me!โ
How was it possible that a third of the materials in the top mentorโs archive were gathered by an undergraduate whose grades were the worst in the team? That was absolutely impossible. Natalie refused to believe it.
She was adamant that Josie was just trying to pull a fast one because she didnโt want anyone to find out that some of the materials were not gathered by her.
She believed that Josie wanted to take the opportunity to steal some stuff that did not belong to her. โThis shameless woman has not given up on cytology at all. She is still trying every possible way to steal knowledge!โ she fumed inwardly.
