Josie thought of something. In her previous life, a minor accident occurred during this event. Lonnard Smith, the eminent medical authority, suddenly suffered an acute cerebral infarction.
It was almost a joke. Dozens, or even hundreds, of top medical professionals were present and immediately tried to save the elderly man; however, he still passed away.
Subsequently, this incident became a classic case in the medical field and was analyzed and commented on by various self-proclaimed experts.
The conclusion was that the onset of Lonnardโs cerebral infarction was extremely rapid. The emergency response at the scene was top-notch. However, the issue was the bumpy ride to the hospital.
In other words, not a single one of the top medical experts participating in the event made a mistake.
Josie still remembered her emotions when she read the news. It was an endless sense of sorrow and regret.
Lonnard was an exceptional medical genius. Even at his age, he carried the significant responsibility of advancing the nationโs medical development. His passing represented a profound loss for the entire medical community.
โWhat are you thinking about?โ Sean raised his hand, flicked her nose, and asked, โAre you going?โ
โYes.โ Josie regained her composure and asked, โIs Delilah going as well?โ
Sean shook his head and said, โI donโt know, maybe sheโs not. Sheโs never been interested in such events and thinks theyโre just a bunch of well-fed people wasting time and resources.โ
โThen think of a way to persuade her to go,โ Josie tugged at Seanโs sleeve and said. โIโve heard that Mr. Smith attends every year, and I would like Delilah to introduce me to him. Iโm counting on you, Sean,โ she continued.
Her big, sparkling eyes blinked at him, and her tone rose as if she were acting cute. Sean felt as if someone had lightly tapped his chestโticklish, making it hard to resist.
He instinctively raised his hand, rubbed his chest, and said, โMm, Iโll try my best.โ
โThank you, Sean!โ Josie waved to him, then turned and ran toward the cafeteria.
Sean wanted to follow her, but after a brief pause, he decided not to, fearing that he might not want to leave if he stayed any longer.
The little girl is currently not inclined to pursue a romantic relationship, and I canโt hold her back, he thought.
Josie grabbed a quick bite at the cafeteria. When she returned to her dormitory, she rummaged and took out her silver needles.
After proper disinfection, she placed them in a bag. She then searched for a substantial amount of knowledge on acupuncture emergency treatment for stroke patients.
In her previous life, she had no idea if Delilah was present at that time, but this time, she wanted to try. Itโs a human life! she thought.
Early the following morning, Claire arrived at the dormitory, carrying a bag filled with clothes.
โTime to get up, sleepyhead,โ Claire patted Josie and said. She then pulled open the curtains.
Josie had stayed up late last night and was feeling very drowsy. โClaire, what brings you here?โ she asked.
โSean said youโre going with him to the seminar at the medical center. My mom asked me to come over and bring you a set of clothes,โ Claire said.
Josie suddenly became alert and sat up abruptly. โHas Delilah agreed to go?โ
โYes.โ Claire replied. She walked back and glanced at her with a smile, saying, โYou have no idea how Sean spent the entire night trying to persuade my mom yesterday. It was the first time Iโd seen him like that; it was hilarious.
โHe totally ruined his image. It was so funny.โ
Josie could not imagine how Sean pestered Delilah, begging her to attend the event, but after hearing Claire say this, for no reason, an image flashed through her mind.
She inexplicably shivered. What would it look like if someone as aloof as Sean were clinging to someone and acting cute? she wondered, suddenly feeling a bit curious.
She rubbed her face and sat up. โClaire, what time does the event start? I forgot to ask yesterday,โ she said.
โItโs ten oโclock. Get up quickly, and you can still have your breakfast,โ Claire replied and took the clothes out of the bag.
โItโs last-minute, so I purchased these clothes from the store on short notice, selecting them according to your measurements. Please get up and try them on, they should fit you,โ Claire said.
The clothing was relatively formal and sufficiently understated, which left Josie very satisfied. โThank you, Claire. I appreciate your effort. I will transfer the payment to you shortly.โ
โAlright,โ Claire didnโt bother to reject.
After packing up, the two went downstairs. Sean was leaning against the car door, waiting.
