When they reached the doorway, Colby waved to the two of them and said, โ€œIโ€™ll keep a close watch on the matter and contact you immediately if thereโ€™s any update. Christmas is approaching; donโ€™t worry and be anxious.โ€

When the two had left, the smile vanished from Colbyโ€™s face as he turned and returned to his room.

He glanced at Lindseyโ€™s room upstairs and stopped a servant who was tidying up the teapot.

โ€œWhat made my aunt so angry just now?โ€ he asked.

โ€œDonโ€™t even mention it!โ€ The servant lowered his voice and said, โ€œIsnโ€™t the eldest daughter of the Jiznev family going too far? Just because the family once helped Ms. Clem before, she insisted that Ms. Clem help them purchase a batch of equipment.โ€

Colby was stunned. โ€˜Why is it equipment again?โ€™ he wondered.

If he was not mistaken, the people who came earlier were Jaden and Yvonne Jiznev. He had not expected Yvonne to leverage her familyโ€™s connections to assist Jaden. โ€˜When did these two families become so close?โ€™ he wondered.

โ€œMr. Clem, you must make an effort to coax Ms. Clem. She seems to be very angry,โ€ the servant pointed upstairs and said.

โ€œItโ€™s been a while since she lost her temper like that; she must be feeling really upset.โ€

Colby smiled and said, โ€œAlright. Thank you, Betty. Iโ€™ll go and coax her now.โ€

Josie and Sean got into the car one after the other. After closing the car door, Sean seized Josieโ€™s hand and asked, โ€œA new injury? Did you practice acupuncture again after going back last night?โ€ He frowned deeply, his gaze intense as he looked at her. โ€œDid my aunt assign you a new task?โ€

Josie quickly waved her hand and said, โ€œNo, she didnโ€™t assign me any homework these past few days. I just wanted to practice. Iโ€ฆ I enjoy learning acupuncture.โ€

โ€œIs that really the reason?โ€ Sean was unconvinced. โ€œEven if you like it, you canโ€™t just train yourself without any restraint. Do you still want your hands?โ€

Josie withdrew her hand, smiling and said, โ€œItโ€™s all right. Iโ€™ve done a lot of chores in the past, so my hands arenโ€™t that delicate. Now, to practice acupuncture, Iโ€™ve been taking good care of them. This minor injury will heal by tomorrow.โ€

Her completely unconcerned demeanor made Sean feel uncomfortable. He said, โ€œWhether you truly enjoy acupuncture or are simply returning a favor, you must not practice like this anymore.

โ€œEverything takes time and must follow its course. Rome wasnโ€™t built in a day, and the Reedshaw Acupuncture Technique wonโ€™t flourish just because of one person. Donโ€™t be too hard on yourself.โ€

Josie knew what he was thinking. Just like Claire, he believed that everything Delilah did was to insist on the legacy of the Reedshaw Acupuncture Technique.

They studied this craft out of a sense of family duty. In her case, she studied it because she had no choice. Nobody genuinely believed this skill was truly indispensable.

โ€˜How can a less popular major compete with a hugely popular one?โ€™ she thought.

This realization made Josie feel very uncomfortable. She pulled the seatbelt over and fastened it herself.

โ€œIโ€™m not making it hard for myself. I know you donโ€™t believe me, but itโ€™s all right. Time will prove everything. Just wait and see. Iโ€™ll show you Iโ€™m neither acting on a whim nor returning a favor,โ€ she said.

On the way back to Aloville Traditional Medicine Hospital, Josie did not say a single word, clearly sulking.

Sean, his face full of helplessness, said, โ€œAlright, I apologize. Itโ€™s my fault. I should not have doubted you, okay? Please donโ€™t be upset. Let me take you out for a meal.โ€

โ€œNo.โ€ Josie got out of the car. โ€œIโ€™m going to eat at the hospital cafeteria. You go back on your own; thereโ€™s no need to worry about me.โ€

Sean had never coaxed anyone before. This was also the first time a young woman had thrown a tantrum at him.

โ€˜Well, the feeling is a bit strangeโ€“not unpleasant. Instead, it makes me feel like laughing. Perhaps itโ€™s because itโ€™s Josie who throws tantrums at me,โ€™ he thought.

โ€œWhy are you in such a hurry?โ€ Sean caught up with her and said, โ€œThereโ€™s a seminar at the medical center tomorrow. Come with me!โ€

Josie paused in her stride and asked, โ€œIs this the annual private gathering for leading professionals across various medical fields? Can I attend? Is an invitation required?โ€

โ€œYou know about it?โ€ Sean was once again surprised. โ€œIโ€™ll take care of the invitation. Just tell me, are you going?โ€ he said.
