Chapter 674
Seeing her silence, Sofia sneered, โWhy arenโt you talking now? Werenโt you all tough on the phone, saying youโd have those guys finish me off?โ The gun in her hand jabbed repeatedly at Elenaโs forehead.
Still reeling from the gunshot, Elena dared not breathe. Terrified the gun might go off again, tears streamed down her face as she shook her head. โIโm telling the truth. My people really couldnโt find you. They searched the entire room.โ
Sofia was furious. She slapped Elena hard across the face several times. Elena was completely dazed by the beating.
Finally, Elliot arrived, picked Sofia up, and even kindly called an ambulance for Elena.
In the car, Sofia asked angrily, โWhat did Sebastian mean?โ She hadnโt expected Sebastian to send Elliot to pick her up.
Elliot replied, โHe meant that youโre free to scold or hit Elena, but you canโt kill her.โ When Elliot arrived, Sofiaโs gun was pointed at Elenaโs head. One slip of her finger, and that would have been the end of Elena.
Sofia didnโt respond.
โThere are many ways to make someone suffer,โ Elliot said. โNeed I suggest some?โ Not only did Sebastian ask Elliot to pick her up, but he even planned how she could vent her anger.
Sofia was still angry. โYour ideas are all twisted. No wonder you donโt have a girlfriend,โ she grumbled. She couldnโt feel better inside, but at least she could poke fun at him.
Elliot was speechless.
Sofia glanced at Elliot. โYou must not have had a taste of a woman yet. It must be tough being around Sebastian with how clingy he is.โ
Ever since confessing his feelings to Stephanie, Sebastian had been inseparable from her. He came home earlier, had more meals at home, and basically showered Elliot with love all the time.
Elliot was a little embarrassed and quickly changed the subject. โAfter this week, if you want Elena gone, itโs not impossible.โ
Sofia looked at Elliot. With just one glance, she understood what he meant. It was likely that Sebastian was involved in something with the Rossi family, and it wasnโt over yet.
Elliot continued, โMr. Giovanni wonโt let this go.โ Taking Sofia away from Elena was only temporary. Anyone who dared to scheme against Sofia would meet the same fate as the Ashford and Hart families in Long Harbor.
โWell, Iโve had enough fun for now,โ Sofia admitted. She thought Dan was a real jerk. His taste was even worse. In the face of absolute power, Elena didnโt even dare to admit it.
Ever since Sofia went to see Elena, Theodore had his people watching the situation. They knew Sofia went to see Elena and even fired a gun. Their faces turned pale, and they started to think about what color coffins they wanted.
โRichard, I donโt think you should admit it. Sofiaโs a force to be reckoned with,โ Theodore advised, changing his tune. He had been urging Richard to confess to Sofia, but not anymore.
This was no joking matter. Their previous judgment of Sofia was completely accurate. She was ruthless when angered.
Richardโs face grew darker, and he took a long drag from his cigar. He wished he could burn Theodoreโs lips with it.
Theodore said, โRichard, you should come with me. The private jetโs ready.โ He had already arranged for a private jet. Albert, Lancelot, and he were going to escape together. He wasnโt sure what Sofia would do, so he wanted Richard to go with him.
Richard shot him an icy glare. โIf you leave now, Sofia will know it was you.โ
Theodore stammered, realizing that if they ran away now, Sofia would immediately suspect them. She was smart. Since nothing had happened to the Casalini family, they shouldnโt run. Their escape would expose them.
โThen weโll hide,โ Theodore blurted out, feeling desperate. They were caught between a rock and a hard place.
Richard scoffed, โWhere do you suggest we hide?โ
Theodore fell silent, his face ashen.
โSo are we running or not?โ Theodore asked, exasperated.
Albert chimed in, โIf we run and Sofia catches us, weโll be in even bigger trouble.โ
Theodore was speechless. Lancelot sighed. It seemed they had no way out. All they could do was stay in Fiorenza, pray three times a day that Sofia wouldnโt find out about their wicked deeds, and hope for the best.
Now the three of them were regretting dragging Richard along for the morning run. They should have just gone by themselves. It was Richard who had slept with Sofia. But now, they were all dragged into this mess.
โThis is a nightmare,โ Lancelot sighed.
Richard got up, glanced at them, stretched, and walked out.
Seeing him leaving, Theodore panicked. โRichard, where are you going?โ
โIf I donโt tell her the truth, sheโll end up punishing the wrong people,โ Sofia was probably going after everyone around Dan. If he didnโt go, there would be real trouble.
Theodore knew Richard was going to confess, and his heart sank even further. โRichard, donโt sell us out! Donโt tell her we were involved!โ He believed as long as they werenโt implicated, Sofia wouldnโt be too hard on them.
