Albert and Lancelot corroborated Theodore’s statement. “Yeah, man, you seriously gotta make that witch fall for you.” “That’s the only shot any of us have at making it out of this mess alive.” If not, they were completely screwed. With Sofia’s temper, she wouldn’t hesitate to slice them all up, like death by a thousand cuts.

Richard’s face just kept getting darker. Theodore said, “Look, I know this puts you in a tight spot, but would you really go tell Sofia the truth right now?” Albert and Lancelot didn’t say a word, just turned to stare at Richard, both twitching at the corners of their mouths.

Richard was so pissed. “What the hell do you think I’m afraid of?” Theodore shot back without even thinking it through, “Alright then, would you hit her?” Richard was speechless. And just like that, the whole room went dead quiet.

If Richard told Sofia right now that he was the one who slept with her last night, that’d be a guaranteed fight. If Richard didn’t fight back, it could cost his life. But if he did? That domestic violence charge from the courthouse would be locked in for good.

Richard looked over, breathing unevenly, while Theodore pressed his hands together like he was praying. “Man, I get it. You got every right to be mad.” No kidding. He slept with his own wife, and now he was on the run. It was ridiculous.

Richard snapped, “You backstabbing little punk.” Theodore shouted, “Wait, what?” “How the hell was I supposed to run?” Richard barked. The moment Sofia woke up, this whole crew grabbed him and bolted without letting him process anything.

Now that they were back, the more he thought about it, the more it didn’t sit right. This wasn’t something to run from. If they’d stayed, Sofia might’ve flipped out, sure, but at least he could’ve explained. But since they ran, the way Sofia saw things now was a whole different level. The more Richard thought, the darker his face got.

Theodore said, “Wait a second! How’s this on me? Back then, in that moment, how were we not supposed to run?” Richard smashed his cigarette into the ashtray, stood up cold as ice, and said, “I’m gonna go talk to her and straighten this out.” “Whoa, guy, hold on—” Theodore didn’t even finish before his phone started buzzing.

He picked up his phone while trailing behind Richard, reaching out to stop him. The call went through. When he heard what was being said, Theodore blurted out, “Wait! What? She’s going after Dan?”

They were already at the door, and as soon as Theodore heard that, he instinctively grabbed Richard to stop him. Richard shot him a freezing glare. Theodore quickly put the phone on speaker. “What’s going on? Why’s Sofia targeting Dan now?”

Hearing Sofia’s name, Richard stopped in his tracks. ‘Sofia? She was going after Dan?’ That woman had always had serious pride. Ever since she found out Dan was still alive, she’d kept her cool like stone. Back then, she had given her whole heart to Dan, but when it came to Sandara, she swallowed it down.

Honestly, saying she “swallowed her pride” didn’t even cut it. It was more like she just acted like she didn’t give a damn anymore. Because the more pissed off someone is, the more they actually care. So recently, she’d barely even spoken to Dan.

But now, over the phone, the voice said, “Yeah, she showed up with a crew, and they’re armed.” She brought people and weapons. They couldn’t figure out what had happened after they left the hotel or why she was suddenly going after Dan.

Theodore sucked in a breath through his teeth. “A fight.” Just saying the word made his chest tighten. This was serious, life-or-death serious. Thank God they ran when they did, or else Sofia would’ve come straight for them.

“What the hell is going on? How did things suddenly blow up like this?” Theodore asked, clearly shaken. Just hearing Sofia was out for blood was enough to scare anyone, and now she was actually making moves.

Richard frowned and glanced at Theodore. Theodore’s face looked freaked out as if he had been the one who slept with Sofia. He was clearly terrified she’d show up armed and ready to take them down.

The voice on the phone was just as confused. “No one knows exactly what went down. It probably has something to do with what happened last night at Nocturna.” “Stephanie showed up there this morning, and the two of them stayed there for over an hour before heading out.” “After that, once Sofia got back to the Giovanni residence, she immediately rounded up a bunch of people and went after Dan. No clue what exactly happened.”
