โItโs really gone,โ the security guard said. He thought, โWhy is everyone I meet so terrifying?โ He remembered the threat against his family and felt like crying again.
Stephanie examined her perfectly manicured nails. โThis is your last chance. Who deleted the footage?โ She looked up at the guard with unprecedented coldness.
The guard met her gaze and dropped to his knees in terror. โNo one deleted it! Itโs really just broken!โ
Stephanie pulled out a gun, and the room fell silent. She pointed it at the guard.
The guard immediately closed his eyes and covered his head. โItโs broken, Ms. Giovanni! Even if you kill me, itโs still broken!โ
โMs. Giovanni, what are you doing?โ the hotel manager cried. โThe footage is really gone. Weโll take responsibility. Weโll compensate you!โ
Under Stephanieโs fierce intimidation, the hotel manager and security guard were scared and speechless.
โExcuse me, but I was raped. How are you going to compensate for that?โ Sofia scoffed.
โH-How to compensate?โ the hotel manager stammered.
This was truly a troublesome matter. People usually go to hotels for such activities willingly. But now, she was raped while staying here. The hotel managerโs back was drenched in cold sweat, his entire body numb.
Sofia stepped forward and pressed Stephanieโs wrist. โOkay, itโs probably broken.โ The man was scared witless and still hadnโt given them a straight answer. So, the surveillance was definitely broken.
Stephanie agreed. After all, no one would willingly face death. If they hadnโt revealed the answers in the face of death, then the surveillance footage would have been gone.
Seeing Stephanie lower her gun, the security guard and the hotel manager both breathed a long sigh of relief.
โGet lost,โ Sofia said. She thought, โCompensate? With what? Money? Or her first time? I didnโt care about money, and as for my first time, how could they possibly compensate for that?โ The manager and the security guard were relieved and hurried off.
Once alone, Stephanie turned to Sofia. โThe footage is probably gone for good,โ she said. Theyโd been terrified, and even when facing death hadnโt backed down, so the footage was likely gone forever.
Sofia let out a tired sigh. She thought, โGone? Thatโs a real problem. I swear, if I ever catch that bastard, Iโll tear him limb from limb.โ
Stephanie said, โI have another idea.โ
โYou have another idea?โ Sofia perked up a bit when she heard that Stephanie had another idea.
Stephanie nodded. โCheck the traffic cameras on that street.โ
โI donโt even know who it was. Whatโs the point of checking? Besides, there were so many people staying in the hotel.โ Sofia thought that checking the traffic cameras was unreliable.
Stephanie glanced at her, her eyes falling on the red mark on her neck. โI suspect it was someone we know.โ
Sofia wondered if Stephanie was serious about it being someone they knew. But if it really was someone they knew, it would be much easier to handle. No matter who it was, they could just deal with them directly.
In Richardโs villa, Theodore, Albert, and Lott were all present. Their faces were pale as they thought about what had just happened. Richard held a cigar in his hand, the smoke highlighting the coldness in his eyes.
Compared to the other three, his expression was even more grim. He was carried back by Theodore and Albert. It was also those who took care of the matter. From the very beginning until now, he hadnโt said a word.
Theodore said, โRichard, do you want to call Sofia and ask what she is doing now?โ
Theodore was speechless. When they heard screams coming from the room, they were scared out of their wits. If Sofia had caught them, they would have been done for.
They didnโt have time to think, so they just dragged Richard away and ran.
