Theodore’s lips twitched as he looked at Richard, his eyes seeming to say, “Couldn’t you have been gentler last night? Look how much pain she’s in. With her bad temper, she’ll definitely make you pay later.”

Inside the room, Sofia winced in pain. Her whole body felt like it had been run over by a truck. She thought it must be a hangover. But something felt off. She realized something was different about her body, especially when she noticed she was completely naked. Sofia’s breath hitched. Her eyes flew open. She sat up abruptly, throwing the blanket off and glancing down. ‘Oh my God, what happened to me? Why am I naked?’ she thought.

She felt sticky. Spreading her legs, she took a closer look. ‘What the hell happened? Why is there so much blood?’ she thought in horror.

Sofia was confused. She wondered, ‘Why was there blood on the bed? Why did my body feel so strange?’ She looked at the messy sheets, then down at the bruises on her body.

In that instant, Sofia froze. She thought, ‘What happened? How did I end up like this? My God, did someone rape me? But this is Fiorenza! Who would do such a crazy thing?’

Sebastian left the room after coaxing Stephanie to finish her meal. She was about to fall back asleep when her phone started buzzing. She fumbled for it and croaked, “Hello?”

“Stefi, it’s me.” Sofia’s voice was laced with a mix of fury and panic Stephanie had never heard before.

Stephanie’s eyes flew open. “What happened?”

“I… Ugh, it’s hard to explain! I’m going to kill that bastard!” Sofia spat.

Stephanie asked, “Who?”

“I don’t know who it was.”

“What do you mean?” Stephanie was confused.

Sofia’s mind was a complete mess. Her chest ached with anger, making it impossible for her to speak clearly. Stephanie couldn’t understand what she was trying to say either.

Finally, Sofia choked out, “I think I was raped.”

Stephanie’s breath hitched in her throat.

Half an hour later, Stephanie asked the driver to take her to Nocturna. At that moment, Sofia was in the surveillance room. When Stephanie arrived, she heard Sofia arguing with someone.

“This is terrible! How could the surveillance be down at a time like this?” Sofia exclaimed.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Giovanni,” said the hotel manager. “The surveillance has been down for three days. The security department hasn’t been able to fix it.”

“Then who was the man in my room last night?” Sofia asked.

“You were the only one in your room last night, ma’am. Room service and your friend escorted you to your room.”

“There was a man! What do you mean? Are you trying to avoid taking responsibility for this? Believe it or not, I’ll blow up this lousy hotel,” Sofia shouted, her anger growing.

“No, it’s not like that,” the hotel manager stammered.

“I was raped! Don’t tell me I don’t know if I was raped.” Sofia shouted, furious that they kept saying there was no man in her room. Maybe she didn’t know who it was, but her body was proof that a man had been there.

She thought, ‘It couldn’t be a woman or a ghost, could it?’ The angrier Sofia thought about it, the more her anger reached its peak. “I’m telling you, you must find this person for me, or else I’ll burn down your hotel.”

She thought, ‘Damn it, this is so infuriating. This is Fiorenza! It should be the safest place for me. How could this happen?’

Stephanie stepped forward. She was stunned when she heard Sofia say that she had been sexually assaulted, especially when she saw her slightly swollen lips.

Sofia saw her and pulled her over. “Why are you here?”

“You were so anxious on the phone that I was worried, so I had someone find out where you were.” Sofia was rambling on the phone earlier, which made Stephanie worry.

“What happened?” Stephanie asked softly.

Sofia replied, “Oh, what else could it be? There was a man in my room last night who slept with me, and the damn hotel’s surveillance is broken.”

The more Sofia talked, the more angry she became. “Oh, just come back to my room with me first.”

She hadn’t even had time to take a shower before she rushed to the surveillance room to find out who the bastard was, only to find out that the hotel surveillance was broken.
