Chapter 642

Stephanie didn't want to take a bath with Sebastian, but he wouldn't take no for an answer.

An hour later, she was flushed as she let him dry her hair, trying to hide her annoyance while looking at him in the mirror. Sebastian leaned in and teased, โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong, Stefi? Arenโ€™t you happy?โ€

Stephanie was shocked and thought, โ€˜How could I be happy? Iโ€™ve been serving you the whole time.โ€™ She felt like she might go crazy. Sebastian was quite annoying sometimes. With a loud sigh, she glared at him.

Sebastian smiled cheekily. โ€œSo, what now, Stefi?โ€

โ€œMom said we canโ€™t have sex for the next three months,โ€ Stephanie said firmly.

Sebastian took her hand and pulled her toward the bed. Fresh from the shower, his body felt warm. โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€ she asked, surprised.

He gently placed her on the bed and quickly called Macro. On the phone, Macro answered sleepily, โ€œWhatโ€™s going on now?โ€ Due to the time difference, it was still daytime for Macro.

Sebastian asked, โ€œCan I trust your medical expertise?โ€

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œIs it really impossible for a pregnant woman to have sex?โ€

At that moment, Macro stood in a vast desert, surrounded by endless dunes of sand. He felt desolate and downcast. Looking down at the dwindling third of his water bottle, his thirst felt overwhelming, nearly leading him to dehydration. Yet Sebastian seemed perfectly fine. In that instant, Macroโ€™s irritation shifted into a sly grin. He answered, โ€œAbsolutely impossible.โ€

A growl emerged from his stomach, which only added to his irritation. Everything was inconvenient here; eating, drinking, and even sleeping were all difficult tasks.

Sebastian declared, โ€œYou shouldnโ€™t come back for the next year.โ€

Macro yelled, โ€œSebastian, you-,โ€ but before he could finish, the call suddenly ended. Macro felt a powerful urge to return and give Sebastian a proper beating. But that was impossible; he knew he wouldnโ€™t stand a chance. The bitter memories of the burdens heโ€™d faced in the few short days only fueled his anger. Macro thought, โ€˜Did he really have to send me here?โ€™

Fuming, he grabbed his phone and sent Stephanie a message: [Take the baby seriously. Donโ€™t have sex.] He wanted Sebastian to suffer together. Feeling it wasnโ€™t enough, Macro sent another message: [Itโ€™s not allowed throughout the entire pregnancy.]

Macro thought, โ€˜If youโ€™re trying to make my life miserable, then Iโ€™ll make sure you canโ€™t have sex. I canโ€™t believe youโ€™re putting me through this; itโ€™s driving me crazy!โ€™

โ€œDr. Vitale, itโ€™s time to go.โ€

11:44 Sat, 12 Apr

โ€œIโ€™m coming.โ€ Macro stood up from the sand, extremely thirsty. He reached for his water, craving a drink. But he hesitated, sipping only a little. โ€œHow long until we reach the next stop?โ€

โ€œAbout half a day, Iโ€™m sorry, Dr. Vitale. This detour has caused you quite a haul.โ€

It wasnโ€™t just that he had taken the wrong road; his three-hour journey had devolved into a long, grueling day. To make things worse, the car had broken down halfway.
