Chapter 619

He thought, โ€œNo, more than just causing trouble! Those murderers have been living easy lives for too long; itโ€™s time for them to face their end.โ€

Sebastian picked up the water cup in front of him and took a sip. The pink cup was clearly Stephanieโ€™s.

Richard huffed, turning his face away. โ€œThen I wonโ€™t argue with you about Stephanie anymore.โ€

โ€œHave you ever wondered why your dad was able to bring that woman into the Casalini family back then?โ€ Sebastian asked. His tone was suddenly profound, suggesting there was more to the story.

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ Richard asked.

Sebastian said, โ€œFrom what Iโ€™ve gathered, your dad didnโ€™t really love that woman much. Yet he still let her into the Casalini family. Why is that?โ€

In their position, most marriages were tied to benefits. If that woman really had no strong background, how could she have easily joined the Casalini family? The Casalini family valued equal status above all else. Yet, despite that, that woman managed to get in soon after Jessica passed away.

Richard breathed heavily. โ€œItโ€™s all because of that woman and her tricks. She completely seduced that old jerk and drove him crazy.โ€

โ€œDo you think your dad is like that?โ€ Sebastian asked.

โ€œWhat do you really mean?โ€ Richard was completely furious now. Talking about his mother was a sensitive spot for him, and anyone who mentioned it would ignite his anger.

Sebastian remained silent, quietly looking at him.

โ€œLetโ€™s not talk about this anymore, okay?โ€ Richard said. He didnโ€™t want to hear anything about it.

Sebastian set down his cup and casually remarked, โ€œWhy is Valentina still behind bars?โ€

Valentina was that womanโ€™s daughter. Yet, throughout all these turbulent years, Matthew hadnโ€™t done everything he could to protect her.

Richard had always been good at keeping up appearances. That woman had killed his mother, yet he acted as if nothing happened. He even treated Valentina somewhat kindly. He was patient, biding his time while his strength was still developing, quietly gathering power. But three years ago, no one knew what had happened in the Casalini family, yet he dropped the act and completely turned against them.

Richard narrowed his eyes, not wanting to discuss the Casalini family further. โ€œI only need Sofia for this. You stay out of it.โ€

Sebastian straightened his crumpled sleeve, remaining silent. Whether he would get involved or not, he couldnโ€™t give Richard a clear answer. After all, Richard had explained what happened three years ago, and it was clear he hadnโ€™t tried to harm Stephanie.

As for the things the Casalini family had doneโ€ฆ A dangerous glint flashed in Sebastianโ€™s eyes as he thought of Matthew. He coldly raised his gaze to Richard. โ€œI want the property rights agreement for the minerals from the Canna area.โ€

โ€˜Mineral rights in Canna? Thatโ€™s Matthewโ€™s lifeblood. Sebastian is basically going after his life.โ€™ Richardโ€™s expression darkened. โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€

Sebastian said, โ€œI just want that place. As for the rest, do whatever you want with it, alright?โ€ The Casalini family had plenty of resources.

Before Richard could respond, Sebastian added, โ€œAfter all, youโ€™re not part of the Casalini family anymore, are you?โ€

Richard fell silent, his face growing even colder. Their eyes met, charged with unspoken emotion, until Richard finally nodded. โ€œFine, let Sofia cause whatever trouble she wants.โ€

Just then, Sofia came down the stairs and happened to overhear that. Caught off guard, she nearly lost her footing. If she hadnโ€™t grabbed the railing quickly, she would have tumbled down.

โ€˜Richard, the sneaky guy, is surely plotting against me. Cause whatever trouble I want? Heโ€™s basically setting me up to go fight the Casalini family,โ€™ Sofia thought, furious.
