Chapter 611

Up in the driverโ€™s seat, Cliff listened. It didnโ€™t seem like today was the first disagreement between Mr. Casalini and Dan. This fierce revenge felt more like a long-standing grudge between them.

โ€œYou wouldnโ€™t dare,โ€ Dan raged over the phone, his voice trembling with fury.

Richard laughed even more wildly. โ€œSheโ€™s my wife, legally.โ€ Every mention of โ€œwifeโ€ further infuriated the man on the other end of the line. Without waiting for Dan to respond, Richard hung up abruptly.

The small space became quiet. Richard lit a cigarette and took a drag, finding relief in each breath, his shoulders relaxing for the first time in what felt like hours.

Cliff looked at him in the rearview mirror and carefully asked, โ€œAre you intentionally provoking Mr. Murry?โ€

โ€œHa, Iโ€™m just trying to piss off that bastard,โ€ Richard muttered, wincing as the cut on the corner of his mouth throbbed with pain.

Cliff thought, I never noticed how ruthless Mr. Casalini could be. Is he really getting revenge for today? No, it doesnโ€™t seem like it. There must be something else weโ€™re not aware of.

At the hospital, Dan had accumulated quite a few new injuries. Richardโ€™s surprise attack had caught him completely off guard. Enraged by Richardโ€™s arrogant tone over the phone, Dan shoved the cabinet beside him with a force that spoke of his fury.

Maxwell, seeing this, looked anxious. โ€œSir,โ€ he said hesitantly.

โ€œDidnโ€™t you say they werenโ€™t going to get married?โ€ Danโ€™s voice was heavy with frustration.

Maxwellโ€™s eyes widened in shock. โ€œ!!!โ€ he thought to himself. They really did get married? He had heard it through the phoneโ€™s speaker. But with all this chaos, they still went through with it? Who on earth was crazy enough to do that?

โ€œThis doesnโ€™t make sense,โ€ Maxwell muttered, running his hand through his hair as he recalled the scene at the courthouse that morning. The fresh bruises on Richardโ€™s neck and face clearly showed they had fought before going there. Even if he hadnโ€™t been there himself, the atmosphere just didnโ€™t feel like a real wedding, did it?

โ€œWhere did it all go wrong?โ€ Maxwell whispered to himself, his face a mask of confusion.

Dan shot him a cold, piercing look, and Maxwell felt a chill run down his spine. โ€œSir, I was justโ€ฆโ€ he began nervously.

โ€œGet out,โ€ Dan snapped, his anger bursting forth uncontrollably.

Maxwell was startled by the shout. Regaining his composure, he dared not linger and quickly left the room.

Alone in the hospital room, Dan seemed to radiate an icy chill. Memories of Richard beating him up flashed through his mindโ€”memories that, despite their sudden recall, felt eerily familiar. And it was these memories that kept tugging at his heart.

The thought of Sofia and Richard actually getting their marriage license made Danโ€™s rage surge like a tidal wave. He picked up his phone and dialed Sofiaโ€™s number. โ€œThis damn woman, is she out of her mind? She actually went ahead and married Richard.โ€

Chapter 611

Sofia was outside the courthouse, trying to hail a taxi. It was rush hour, and the long line of people waiting in front of her was enough to make her blood boil.

She vented her frustration on Richard, who was nowhere in sight. โ€œBastard! Letโ€™s see if you can manage without asking for my help next time. If youโ€™re so capable, handle everything else on your own.โ€

โ€˜Damn it! What kind of help does he even need? And how did he manage to persuade Mom and Sebastian? If itโ€™s about helping, there must be more to it,โ€™ she thought.

The taxi still hadnโ€™t arrived. The longer she waited, the angrier she got. She decided to call the family driver to come pick her up.

Just as she took out her phone, a call came in from an unfamiliar number. She hung up without answering, but it rang again.

Sofia answered with a hint of irritation. โ€œWho is it?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s me,โ€ Dan said.

Sofia knew it. He must know she wouldnโ€™t pick up his call, so he just changed the number to reach her. Men were so bad, Sofia thought.
