Chapter 587

Sofia replied impatiently, โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Donโ€™t I look like it?โ€

The staff member replied, โ€œIf I may say, not really.โ€

Sofia muttered, โ€œAlright, the world is a big place, full of all kinds of people. Letโ€™s get this over with. I still need to get home to my sister. Stephanie just got back, and she wanted to spend more time with her.โ€

The staff member obviously didnโ€™t believe her words. The moment Sofia mentioned โ€œsister,โ€ Richardโ€™s face turned even darker with anger. He gave Sofia a fierce look.

The staff member tried to advise, โ€œHey, miss, I think you should calm down a bit. Thereโ€™s a huge difference in strength between men and women. After marriage, fights change. You might not know, itโ€™s hard for any department to deal with these things.โ€

This implied that Richard might have a tendency for domestic violence. Richard wasnโ€™t stupid; he realized it and gave a fierce look at the staff member. โ€œDo I look like the kind of uncouth person who would commit domestic abuse?โ€

The staff member said, โ€œExcuse my bluntness, but yes, you do.โ€

โ€œHey, youโ€”โ€ Richardโ€™s anger flared up immediately as he stood up with a commanding presence.

Seeing this, Cliff quickly stepped forward and said, โ€œMr. Casalini, the main thing is to focus on getting married first.โ€

The staff memberโ€™s face darkened upon seeing Richardโ€™s demeanor. Noticing security approaching, the staff member threw down the pen in her hand and said, โ€œMiss, tell me, are you being coerced into marriage? I canโ€™t believe that if a woman doesnโ€™t want it, a man could pressure her this much.โ€

Sofia was caught off guard.

โ€œJust say it, and I promise you wonโ€™t be getting married today,โ€ the staff member added.

Richard was speechless. Sofia looked at the staff member with admiration, amazed that there was someone who could resist Richardโ€™s threats.

Richard was seething with anger. The staff member looked at Richard and said, โ€œDonโ€™t try to intimidate me. Iโ€™ve met plenty of men like you, abusive types who end up alone. Youโ€™re not fit for marriage.โ€

Richard fumed, โ€œWhat did you say?โ€

โ€œStop talking; really, itโ€™s a voluntary marriage. Please.โ€ Cliff quickly handed over all of Richardโ€™s documents to the staff member while giving Sofia meaningful glances.

No Giovanni was easy to deal with. Stephanie was tough, and Sofia was more so. Stephanie was raised this way by them.

The staff member didnโ€™t reach for the documents, just looked at Richard. Sofia sighed and finally opened her bag to pull out her documents. โ€œPlease.โ€

However, just as she was handing over the documents, before the staff member could take them, someone from behind had snatched them.

Sofia turned around and met the intense gaze of a man. She didnโ€™t recognize this strangerโ€™s face.

Behind the man were two more men dressed in sleek suits, looking menacing. Sofiaโ€™s mind went blank; she didnโ€™t know what was happening.

Richard narrowed his eyes and reached towards his waist, but Cliff quickly stepped forward to restrain Richardโ€™s hand. โ€œMr. Casalini.โ€

This wasnโ€™t the place to cause trouble. Cliff hadnโ€™t yet figured out what was happening, but he was genuinely worried Richard might start something here. These years, Richard had been chased around the world by Sebastian, filled with anger. The three people were really bold, provoking a lion seething with frustration.

Sofia looked at the man holding her documents and asked, โ€œWho are you?โ€ As soon as she finished speaking, she instinctively reached out to get them back.

But the man smoothly twisted his wrist, avoiding Sofiaโ€™s attempt to retrieve them.

Sofia demanded, โ€œHey, who exactly are you?โ€

โ€œMs. Giovanni, you beat up our boss. I think you owe us an explanation,โ€ the man said calmly, though each word carried a subtle threat.

Sofia was shocked.
