Chapter 585

When Lottie mentioned Dan, a flicker of worry appeared in Stephanieโ€™s eyes. After all, Dan had occupied a place in Sofiaโ€™s heart for many years. Back then, she almost lost her mind. Now, Sofia looked fine, but maybe she was truly enduring inside.

When Sebastian came back, he saw Stephanie sitting exhausted on the couch, still in her wedding dress. A servant handed her a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. โ€œMiss, have some juice and take a break.โ€

Stephanie nodded. โ€œThanks.โ€ She usually liked the taste of orange juice, but today it just tasted off. After a couple of sips, she handed it back, not wanting to drink more.

The servant asked with concern, โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong, Miss, is the juice too strong today?โ€

Stephanie shook her head. โ€œI just donโ€™t want it, canโ€™t drink it.โ€ Pregnant women were more sensitive to smells and tastes. What used to be just normal orange juice now tasted strange to her.

Seeing Sebastian return, the servant respectfully greeted, โ€œMr. Giovanni.โ€ Sebastian waved his hand, signaling them to leave. The servant nodded and gestured to the staff who were helping Stephanie try on the wedding dress to leave as well.

Now it was just Stephanie and Sebastian left. He sat down beside her and easily pulled her into his arms. โ€œTired?โ€

Stephanie snuggled up in his arms, finding a cozy spot to lean on. โ€œHmm, why are you back so soon?โ€

Sebastian said, โ€œI finished early, so I came back first. Whereโ€™s Mom?โ€

โ€œShe got a phone call and just left, in quite a hurry.โ€ Lottie had just said she would help with the wedding dress fitting but got busy again. Everyone in the family was always so busy, except for Stephanie, just taking it easy. It was like this before and still was now.

Sebastian ruffled her hair, and Stephanie snuggled again. โ€œDo we really have to let Sofia marry that jerk Richard? Why is that?โ€ Stephanie asked again.

Honestly, she couldnโ€™t quite understand this shift. To her, Richard was never a good guy.

Sebastian just replied, โ€œHeโ€™s in some trouble now and needs Sofiaโ€™s help.โ€

โ€œWhat kind of trouble?โ€ Stephanie asked, confused. An arranged marriage seemed almost impossible with the Casalini family. Three years ago, something big happened at the Giovanni family. The Casalini family had problems too. Around that time, Richard practically cut ties with them. Up till now, he hadnโ€™t returned home even once, and Matthew acted as if Richard didnโ€™t exist. So an arranged marriage was definitely out of the question with the Casalinis.

Sebastian said, โ€œAlright, why are you asking so many questions, kiddo? Just let them deal with it.โ€

Stephanie pouted, โ€œIโ€™m all grown-up now and even have your baby.โ€ When she left here three years ago, she definitely was still a kid in front of Sebastian. Growing up, she was always well taken care of by the entire Lucano family. In everyoneโ€™s heart, she was always a child, so now that she has returned, they still treat her like one. When it came to making big decisions, she naturally didnโ€™t have a say.

Hearing her mumble in frustration, Sebastian chuckled softly. โ€œYes, all grown-up, and about to be a mom.โ€

โ€œAnd you still call me a kid,โ€ Stephanie grumbled. Seeing her pouty face, Sebastian affectionately pinched her nose. โ€œReady to try it on again?โ€ The wedding dress fitting wasnโ€™t over yet.

Stephanie shook her head. โ€œNo more, Iโ€™m too tired.โ€ Trying on clothes was exhausting.

Sebastian said, โ€œThen change and letโ€™s go have dinner with Grandma.โ€

โ€œHeading over to the Lucano residence?โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€ Sebastian nodded.

Stephanieโ€™s face lit up with a smile. She missed Beth and Michael too.
