Chapter 576
Seeing Stephanie, Lottie gave the butler a look. โGo on, and make sure the prenatal supplements are ready, okay?โ
โAll ready, maโam.โ The butler nodded respectfully.
Lottie walked towards Stephanie, giving Sebastian a sideways glance, clearly displeased about him going to Stephanieโs room last night. With just one look, she withdrew her gaze and pulled Stephanie over. โCome here, Stefi.โ
โMorning, Lottic,โ Stephanie called softly, her voice sweet enough to melt Lottieโs heart.
Lottie led her to the dining room. โAre you hungry? I had the kitchen make the oatmeal and snacks you love.โ
โThanks, Lottie.โ The snacks from the Giovanni familyโs cook were Stephanieโs favorite. Whenever Lottie and Sebastian were busy outside, sheโd nibble on some treats while waiting for them.
The servant saw Stephanie and quickly had the prepared meals brought out. The snacks had their familiar look, along with the creamy oatmeal.
When in Long Harbor, because of the taste differences, Stephanie didnโt like the bland food there at all. But back home, everything seemed so tasty.
Lottie placed a forkful of side dish on the small plate in front of her. โYou should try to eat a bit more now.โ
โShe has a weak stomach and canโt eat too much,โ Sebastian said as he sat down next to Stephanie, gently reminding her. It was true. Even though Stephanie had a big appetite, her stomach wasnโt very strong, and overeating made her uncomfortable.
Lottie gave Sebastian another glance upon hearing these words. โI donโt need you to remind me, I know.โ
Sebastian insisted, โDonโt let her eat too much.โ
Lottie huffed, โShe hasnโt been eating much these days; she should eat well when she can.โ
Sebastian said, โItโs precisely because she hasnโt been eating much recently that she shouldnโt eat too much now.โ
Lottie rolled her eyes. โHey, are you still not finished? Whatโs wrong with her eating a bit more?โ
Stephanie interjected in a hurry, โLottie, Iโm really fine with anything.โ Seeing Lottie getting worked up, Stephanie quickly grabbed her.
Hearing Stephanieโs words, Lottie gave Sebastian a look. โItโs just oatmeal; eating more wonโt hurt.โ
Lottie felt for Stephanie, knowing how tough pregnancy was for her at the moment and that she couldnโt eat well in their last few days in Long Harbor. So, in her view, as long as Stephanie wanted to eat, she should be allowed to eat well. Yet Sebastian was still opposing her. โStefi, eat up,โ Lottie said as she placed more food on Stephanieโs plate. Stephanie took a sip of the oatmeal, and it tasted really good. โMmm, this oatmeal tastes great,โ she said, savoring it.
As soon as he heard her say that, Sebastian realized she was going to eat nonstop today. Just as he thought, she finished two bowls of oatmeal, not to mention the snacks and side dishes.
By the time Stephanie started her second bowl, Sebastian was about to say something to stop her, but Lottie shot him a glare, silencing him instantly.
โStefi really shouldnโt eat too much,โ he finally blurted out.
Chapter 576
Lottie just replied, โYou shot up!โ
There was no way that Lottie would listen to Sebastian. It had been three years. Over these years, Lottie always worried that Stephanie wasnโt eating well outside, which might affect her health. Now that Stephanie was finally back home, Sebastian had no say now.
On the other hand, Lorenzo sat at the dining table, not looking very happy. He glanced at the servant nearby. โGo to call her down for dinner.โ
The servant, who usually cooked in the kitchen, hesitated when Lorenzo asked her to get Ella for dinner. She couldnโt help but remember what Cecil had told her when he brought her over.
Feeling a bit uneasy, she said, โBut Cecil told me not to go upstairs.โ
That was exactly why this morningโs breakfast had to be reheated several times. Ella wouldnโt come down after it was ready, and neither would Lorenzo.
Lorenzoโs face hardened at her words. โGo.โ
His sudden cold tone frightened the servant. She quickly nodded. โAlright.โ Even though she knew she should listen to whoever paid her, she didnโt dare ignore Lorenzoโs words. The servant hurried upstairs to call Ella.
At that moment, Ella was in her room, checking the time and considering calling Stephanie. Ever since she learned that the previous head of the Dark Portal was also named Andrea, she felt a constant sense of unease.
Ella was feeling agitated and heard a knock on the door. She snapped back to reality, suddenly feeling alert all over. The cabinets Cecil had brought were so heavy, she couldnโt move them at all; the only thing between her and Lorenzo was the flimsy door lock.
โWho is it?โ Ella nervously swallowed and asked.
The servantโs voice came from outside the door. โMiss, Mr. Moretti asked you to come down for breakfast.โ
Ella thought, โArenโt servants not allowed upstairs? Well, Lorenzo makes all the rules here.โ Then she said, โIโm not hungry.โ
Since Lorenzo was calling her down, she definitely wasnโt going. She and Stephanie had already agreed that if Lorenzo was around, she should stay away as much as possible to avoid any more unavoidable trouble.
Thinking about all the messes sheโd gotten into around Lorenzo, Ella could hardly face herself. She couldnโt believe how foolish she had been. In those moments of chaos, her body and her hands didnโt even seem like her own, completely out of her control.
The servant hesitated, โBut Mr. Moretti doesnโt seem very happy.โ
There was no way she was going downstairs. Lorenzo was intimidating enough when he wasnโt angry, and if he was upset, heโd be even scarier.
Ella sniffled, โIโm not going down. Iโm really not hungry.โ
This time the servant didnโt insist and just left.
Ella thought she had passed this test and that Lorenzo would not bother coming up just to call her for dinner. With his status, there was no way heโd do something like that.
However, less than five minutes later, a deep voice came from outside the door. โCome out.โ
Hearing his voice, Ella shivered again. This time, she didnโt dare to resist. Slowly and cautiously, she opened the door, looking up nervously like a timid quail, meeting Lorenzoโs icy gaze.
In an instant, Ella quickly lowered her head. โ1-1โIโm really not hungry.โ
