Richard recalled overhearing a conversation on the cruise with Dan talking to someone else. He thought, ‘Planning to steal from me, huh? I should give him a lesson.’

Richard lifted his eyelids and gave Sofia a mischievous smile. “Want to marry me? Okay, bring your driver’s license to the courthouse tomorrow and wait for me.”

Sofia was shocked and thought, “The sudden change caught me off guard. He was so intensely arrogant, but now…” Sofia glanced at Richard.

Sofia thought, ‘His complexion looks perfectly normal and doesn’t seem to be feverish or out of it.’ “What do you mean by that?” Sofia was a bit puzzled.

Richard’s smile widened. “Weren’t you trying to trap me with marriage? Go ahead.” Richard emphasized the words “trap me” heavily.

Sofia, who had been so aggressive a moment ago, shivered. She thought, ‘Had he gone crazy or something? After all, he was hysterical just a moment ago, and now he’s so calm?’ Sofia’s gut feeling told her something was strange.

Richard stepped forward and grabbed Sofia’s chin. “What? Regretting it now?”

“No, it’s just that this transformation…” It wasn’t about regretting anything. It was just that Richard’s sudden change left Sofia bewildered.

Hearing her response, Richard shoved her away. “Good, it’s the best thing.” He then patted Sofia’s cheek. “Remember, be there by ten tomorrow morning or else…” He paused, a trace of coldness creeping into his wicked smile.

Even without him finishing his sentence, Sofia could guess what Richard meant. It was obvious he was determined to cause a big scene.

Stephanie was headed to find Sebastian, but Richard caught up with her quickly. Stephanie was walking with Jesse. When they saw Richard, Jesse instinctively shielded Stephanie behind him. “Mr. Casalini,” Jesse greeted respectfully.

Richard chuckled, “This is the Giovanni residence. What could I possibly do to her that you all have to be so protective?”

Stephanie was free at the Giovanni residence. No one dared do anything to her here. Even if Richard was upset with her because of Sebastian, he wouldn’t dare make a move here.

Jesse respectfully bowed his head slightly and said nothing more.

Richard looked at Stephanie. “Stephanie, I really underestimated you before.” He thought, ‘No wonder for all those years whenever anyone suggested marriage, she didn’t agree. It seems her heart was already set on Sebastian.’

Stephanie turned her face away, ignoring Richard. Richard snorted and walked away.

Watching him leave, Stephanie glanced at Jesse and asked, “Did he just walk away like that?”

Jesse nodded. “Yeah, just like that.”

The way things were heading earlier, Stephanie thought a fight would break out. That was why she was in such a hurry to find Sebastian. Her phone had died earlier, and Jesse’s phone was left in the medical room.

So Stephanie had to find Sebastian for help quickly. Before she could find him, Richard caught up with her. She thought, “That intense, almost life-or-death tension just evaporated, which is surprising.”

Footsteps came from behind. Stephanie turned to see Sofia looking upset. Stephanie asked, “Sofia, did Richard bother you again?”

Sofia waved her hand. “Don’t worry, he didn’t hit me this time.”
