When Richard stormed in, looking furious, Sofia was a bit thrown off. For a moment, she almost freaked out. It was one of those moments when her instincts kicked in, and then she panicked. However, when Richard mentioned Dan, everything quickly spiraled out of control, and Sofia gasped, “Richard, you…”
Sofia might have kept it together for a moment if Richard hadn't brought up Dan. Everyone in Fiorenza knew how deeply it had messed her up when she heard Dan died so suddenly. She nearly lost her mind. The thought of Dan marrying someone else was like setting off a bomb in her brain. Now Richard had the nerve to bring it up. Sofia completely went mad. “You want to go all out, huh? Fine, let’s do this!”
She’d been trying to stay calm for Stephanie’s sake, but now all that restraint was gone. She marched over to the nightstand, pulled open the drawer, and grabbed the one thing she always kept nearby. Without thinking twice, she pointed the thing right at Richard. “You wanna die here? Fine, I’ll help you with that.”
Richard’s face went pale. “Sofia, you’re insane!” He quickly jumped out of the way. A loud bang echoed as a bullet shot through the back of the sofa, triggering the security system.
Stephanie was still trying to process everything when Richard and Sofia were already in full-blown chaos. Richard charged forward and kicked the thing out of Sofia’s hand, and then the fight got physical—close, fast, and violent. Stephanie froze, too stunned to move. Richard and Sofia both had tempers that could burn down a city, and now they were throwing punches, smashing things around the room.
Finally, when Richard threw Sofia off, Stephanie couldn’t hold back anymore. She grabbed a vase off the table and hurled it at Richard’s head. With a loud crack, the vase shattered on his head. He staggered but quickly turned around, his eyes full of fury. He gritted his teeth as he said, “Stephanie, you backstabbing bitch.”
Getting hit by Stephanie only made Richard angrier. He still hadn’t settled his score with her over Sebastian, and now Stephanie had the nerve to throw something at him.
He reached out to grab Stephanie, but just then, Sofia was up off the floor, grabbing him around the waist. “Don’t you dare touch Stefi again, you bastard. We’re not done with what happened three years ago.”
“Let go of me, Sofia!” Richard snarled.
Stephanie grabbed a picture frame and was ready to smash it over Richard’s head. This time, Richard dodged quickly and grabbed Sofia’s hand, which was still clutching his waist, and in one quick move, they both ended up on the bed.
Now, Sofia was pinned underneath Richard, and she screamed. Seeing Richard on top of her made her anger boil over. “Damn it. Why are you so heavy? Get off me. You’re crushing me.”
Just then, Sebastian and Lottie barged in, taking in the scene of chaos. Security guards filled the room. Stephanie was standing by the bed, holding the picture frame, with one of the guards standing protectively in front of her. Richard and Sofia were still on the bed.
Sofia’s eyes shot downward, and her breath quickened as she shouted, “What the hell are you doing with your hands, Richard? You pervert, get them off me now.”
That yell got everyone’s attention. All eyes turned to Richard’s hands. When they saw where they were, everyone froze for a moment.
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed. He stepped forward and yanked Richard off the bed. Richard shoved him away. “Let go of me! Don’t touch me.”
After clearing up the misunderstandings in front of Lottie, Richard was cockier in front of the Giovanni family, especially when he saw Sebastian; he didn’t hide his disapproval at all. Sebastian’s gaze turned icy, and his voice was cold as he said, “Come with me.”
Richard glared at Sofia, who was still on the bed. He wanted to say something sharp to Sebastian, but when the words hit his throat, he swallowed them. With a grunt, he followed Sebastian.
At the door, Sebastian paused and turned back. “What?” Richard asked.
