Then, she turned around and opened a set of drawers in the wardrobe, pulling out a line of delicate boxes. All kinds of beautiful gift boxes and clothes were mixed together in a messy pile. The bed was soon stacked up like a hill. Stephanie gasped, her eyes wide with surprise.

Sofia opened the boxes, revealing a variety of jewelryโ€”necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, and more. โ€œThis is my new craft,โ€ she said proudly. There was so much it was almost overwhelming. Stephanieโ€™s eyes went wide in shock. โ€œYou made all of these?โ€ she asked, still processing.

When did she start making jewelry? Stephanie thought. I only knew she learned to make clothes because of Dan. โ€œWait, does that mean Dan, the big guy, started liking accessories? If thatโ€™s true, Sofia has really changed a lot because of him,โ€ she thought.

โ€œYeah, two years ago, when I was on my way to find you, I stumbled across a mine. The stones were so beautiful that I just had to grab them. I ended up designing and making all this stuff. Theyโ€™re all for you,โ€ Sofia explained.

โ€˜A mine?โ€™ Stephanie thought. โ€˜Who just casually stumbles upon a mine like that? Her luck is insane. Sheโ€™s basically got the gods on her side.โ€™

Stephanie closely examined the stones, noticing their transparent texture. She couldnโ€™t tell exactly what kind of mineral it was, but it definitely looked gorgeous. โ€œAre you sure these are the ones you found?โ€ she asked.

Even though Stephanie didnโ€™t know much about minerals, she could tell just by feeling the stones that they were top-quality. โ€œI took them,โ€ Sofia said casually.

โ€œWhat?โ€ Stephanie blinked, surprised. Hearing Sofia say she โ€œtookโ€ them left Stephanie speechless. โ€œWhyโ€ฆโ€

โ€œI bought them from some shady people, but they tried to scam me and rip me off. It was honestly ridiculous,โ€ Sofia said, shaking her head. Anyway, it wasnโ€™t easy for Sofia to get them, but those stones were so beautiful that she couldnโ€™t take her eyes off them. Those people had tried to scam her, and just thinking about it still made her mad.

Stephanie raised an eyebrow. โ€œSo, you just took them?โ€

โ€œWell, I paid them the actual value of the stones,โ€ Sofia explained. But as for the scammers, they didnโ€™t get a penny more.

โ€œAlright, let me put this necklace on you. I picked out every material myself. Itโ€™s so pretty, right?โ€ Sofia said with a grin, sounding proud like an older sister. It had been so long since Stephanie had called Sofia โ€œSis.โ€ It was hard for Sofia to get used to life without hearing it.

Even though Stephanie had grown up, her baby face and how little she had changed still reminded Sofia of when she was a child. Looking at Stephanieโ€™s cute face, Sofia couldnโ€™t help but feel her heart soften. Back when Sofia had a tough day at school, seeing that face instantly cheered her up. Now that Stephanie had grown up, Sofia still thought her eyes were just as adorable.

โ€œI had a professional polish the raw stones for me, and I designed all the accessories myself,โ€ Sofia said, smiling proudly.

Stephanie nodded, her eyes sparkling. โ€œYeah, itโ€™s really pretty,โ€ she said. Feeling the design was so unique, especially those stones, she asked, โ€œWhat kind of stones are they?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t know. I just thought they looked pretty, so Iโ€ฆ uh, took them. No, I mean I bought them,โ€ Sofia said with a nervous laugh. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ve tested them. Theyโ€™re totally safe for the body,โ€ she added quickly.

As she spoke, Sofia started rummaging through the bed, picking out a dress and holding the necklace up to Stephanie, constantly comparing the two. โ€œLook at my taste,โ€ she said with a grin. Stephanie glanced at the necklace in Sofiaโ€™s hands and nodded. โ€˜Sheโ€™s got good taste,โ€™ she thought.

But when she saw the color of the dress, she frowned a little. โ€œSo, does Dan like mature women now?โ€ she asked. Sofiaโ€™s face immediately stiffened at the mention of Dan. She turned and set the dress down on the bed with her back to Stephanie. Her posture gave off a sad vibe. Stephanie stepped closer and gently took her cold hand.

โ€œSis,โ€ Stephanie said softly, her voice warm and comforting. At that moment, it felt like Sofia had all the support she needed. Sofia closed her eyes, her voice shaky. โ€œHeโ€™s engaged. Heโ€™s getting married, Stefi. Heโ€™s actually getting married.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ Stephanie gasped. โ€œNo way!โ€ โ€œHow could this happen?โ€ she asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

Back then, Dan had really liked Sofia. To Stephanie, he had been so kind to Sofia. At that time, he had hidden his true identity to be with Sofia. Looking back on those times, Sofia had been the happiest sheโ€™d ever been. Dan had taught her how to embrace being a girl, but now everything felt different.

Sofia took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. โ€œHeโ€™s forgotten me. He doesnโ€™t even remember me anymore.โ€ โ€œDid he lose his memory?โ€ Stephanie asked, full of concern.

โ€œI donโ€™t know. I donโ€™t know anything, and honestly, I donโ€™t want to know. Stefi, he doesnโ€™t recognize me,โ€ Sofia said, her voice thick with sadness. Sofiaโ€™s words carried so much pain that Stephanie didnโ€™t know what to say. She stepped up behind Sofia and silently wrapped her arms around her.

Sofia trembled slightly. โ€œHow could he not recognize me? How could this happen?โ€
