Chapter 488
When last night's event was mentioned, Ella became speechless. She even joined in on the gossip about Stephanie. Previously, she had sworn such a serious oath, and now it's completely forgotten.
But before Ella started talking, she made sure the door was securely locked. โHey, let me tell you, he might not be able to have an erection.โ
Stephanie said, โHmm? Go ahead, tell me more.โ
When they discussed it with Sofia, it was merely a conversation. Whether Lorenzo was unable to have an erection or not was purely guesswork. There was no solid evidence.
But Ella using "might" with that tone made it seem almost like a fact. Ella coughed awkwardly and said, โItโs just, you know, I was helping him for quite a while last night and he didnโt react at all.โ
Stephanie said, โThen heโs unable to have an erection.โ Such a shame for someone so attractive.
โWhat exactly did you do to upset him today?โ Stephanie asked. She thought, โIf Ella got that scared, it must have been something serious.โ
Stephanie thought, โDidnโt Ella call me last night? At the time, I was half-asleep. What did she say? About the fever medicine, I seemed to say to take a few more pills.โ
Stephanieโs mouth twitched, and before Ella could speak, she interjected, โHang on, how many fever pills did you give Lorenzo last night?โ
Stephanie thought, โIโm in big trouble. I was so sleepy that I let Ella give Lorenzo a few extra fever pills. Could that harm him? My mind went completely blank. Iโm desperately hoping Ella has some sense and didnโt take my advice this time.โ
Ella mumbled, โI only gave him one pill. When you said that, I thought you were clearly out of it.โ
Stephanie breathed a sigh of relief, โThatโs a relief.โ She thought, โIf Lorenzo had taken more fever pills, even his strong body wouldnโt have taken them.โ
Ella scoffed, โIโm not that dumb.โ
โSo why did you upset Lorenzo again? It wasnโt about cooling him down or giving him the wrong meds, so whatโs going on?โ Stephanie asked.
Ella replied, โDidnโt he fire the cook and ask me to take over?โ
โYou canโt cook,โ Stephanie said. She thought, โOther than making oatmeal, people canโt just live on it every day, right?โ
Ella said, โExactly, I canโt cook well, but he insisted. So I thought, why not try making pasta?โ
Stephanie replied, โWell, you can do that.โ She thought, โEven though there were some failures, Ella succeeded before, so it shouldnโt be a big deal.โ
Ella said, โYeah, but today was strange. I messed up the pasta twice.โ
Stephanie replied, โWhat? You messed up?โ
Ella said, โThe first time I overcooked them.โ
Stephanie thought, โBoiling something with just water and still managing to burn it? Thatโs impressive.โ
Ella continued, โThe second time, it ended up as mushy pasta.โ
Stephanie was speechless.
Ella said, โEven worse, I mightโve added salt twice.โ
Stephanie replied, โIsnโt that going to be super salty?โ
โNo kidding, Bernard took one bite and spat it out like Iโd poisoned it,โ Ella said.
Stephanie thought, โCouldnโt hold back in front of Lorenzo? I remembered Bernard now. He wanted to follow Sebastian back then, but Sebastian thought he was too weak and talked too much. Now heโs with Lorenzo? No kidding, heโs like Macro. If they looked alike, they could be mistaken for twins!โ
Stephanie asked, โDid Lorenzo get mad at you?โ She thought, โJust because Ella canโt cook pasta? That seems a bit harsh.โ
Ella replied, โHe wasnโt mad at me.โ
โThen who was he mad at?โ Stephanie asked.
โI was scared,โ Ella said. She thought, โThe kind of person who could hurt me; I had to worry heโd do something reckless in anger.โ
Hearing Ella say that, Stephanie was left speechless. She thought, โSince Ella and Lorenzo were never on the same page, it was understandable that Ella was always worried about his actions. Itโs like theyโre from different worlds.โ
โAlright, Iโm flying tonight. Donโt worry, Ella,โ Stephanie patiently comforted.
Ella muttered, โDonโt lie to me.โ
โOkay, I promise.โ They talked on the phone for a while longer, with Stephanie repeatedly assuring Ella that nothing unexpected would occur until Ella finally hung up willingly.
Ella was scared. She had never seen anything like this when she was young. When Stephanie met terrible things, Ella was more terrified than ever.
