Chapter 484

In Fiorenza, Ella was dumbstruck when she saw the pasta she had cooked, staring blankly at Lorenzo sitting in the living room. It had been an hour and a half since Ella mentioned having dinner. An hour and a half, and all she had done was try to cook some pasta, failing twice. The first time, Ella quickly threw it out, but now, staring at the pasta in the pot that looked like pancakes, she still couldnโ€™t figure out what went wrong.

Ella thought, โ€œI had followed the recipe to the letter. I had even successfully cooked for Stefi before, so what happened today?โ€

Lorenzo, sitting in the living room, hung up the phone and looked toward Ella in the kitchen. โ€œIs it ready?โ€

Ella looked at Lorenzo, then at the pot. She nodded confidently. โ€œItโ€™s ready.โ€

Ready or not, it had to be done. It had been a long time. Whether Lorenzo was hungry or not, she was hungry.

Ella tasted the pasta. She thought, โ€œOh no! They werenโ€™t done at all, so what had I done earlier? Did I add salt twice? Probably.โ€

Lorenzo didnโ€™t notice Ellaโ€™s unease and tossed his phone onto the coffee table. โ€œIf itโ€™s ready, letโ€™s eat.โ€

Ella thought, โ€œHow can anyone eat this? Itโ€™s indescribably salty. But feeling Lorenzoโ€™s calm presence, she didnโ€™t dare to comment. She could only nod bravely. โ€œAlright, right away.โ€

Lorenzo was already seated at the dining table. Ella felt a bit nervous. She thought, โ€œWould Lorenzo be so angry tasting my pasta that heโ€™d lash out at me? An hour and a half of effort, and this is all I accomplished? Even if Lorenzo didnโ€™t get mad, I felt like slapping myself.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Lorenzo, sitting in the dining room, furrowed his brows seeing Ella not moving.

Meeting Lorenzoโ€™s sharp gaze, Ellaโ€™s heart trembled even more, and she shook her head. โ€œNo, nothingโ€™s wrong.โ€

Ella served the pasta in bowls. There was too much. Even though she filled a bowl each for herself and Lorenzo, there was still a lot left. She was not good at controlling portion sizes; this pot of pasta could easily feed five people.

Ella nervously placed the pasta in front of Lorenzo, then brought her own over and sat across from him. At this moment, she didnโ€™t dare to look at Lorenzoโ€™s face.

Listening closely, Lorenzo wasnโ€™t eating. Ella took a bite with gritted teeth and almost spat it out immediately. But she held back, forced herself to swallow, and then cautiously looked at Lorenzo across the table with a forced smile, saying, โ€œDelicious.โ€

Lorenzo glanced at the bowl, then at Ella. His dark eyes revealed no emotion, which seemed quite terrifying to Ella. Lorenzo asked, โ€œDelicious?โ€

Ella nodded. โ€œYeah, itโ€™s tasty, it just doesnโ€™t look great.โ€ It looked like a disaster. The pasta she meant to make turned into a runny pancake. Ella had turned the pasta into slop and added way too much salt.

Maybe it was because her previous attempt failed that Ella became completely confused. She forgot the salt and then added it twice.

โ€œIf you donโ€™t want to eat something that doesnโ€™t look good, should I make it again for you?โ€ Ella stammered. Honestly, if Lorenzo didnโ€™t eat it, thatโ€™d be great. Itโ€™d give her a reason to cook it again.

Lorenzo chuckled softly, โ€œYour cooking skills are bad.โ€ He glanced at Ella, who was very nervous.

Ella quickly nodded. โ€œYeah, not that great.โ€ She was extremely nervous; Lorenzo hadnโ€™t had breakfast, and now sheโ€™d messed up lunch.

After finishing up Lorenzoโ€™s tasks, Bernard, along with Eric and Cecil, came over. When Bernard saw the food before Lorenzo, he was momentarily puzzled.
