Chapter 438/458

After Cecil left, Ella stood there alone, stunned and unable to react for a long time. Cecil had just said that the night before last, Lorenzo had been cared for in the same way. So that was how her clothes had been removed. Her already restless heart was now even more unsettled, especially when she remembered that Cecil said she would have to take care of Lorenzo in the same manner.

Physical cooling? Wiping his entire body? No, could this be serious? Ella thought. Stephanie wiped Sebastianโ€™s chest with a warm towel, making sure he wouldnโ€™t feel uncomfortable when he woke up the next morning. Just as she poured warm water into the bathroom, Ellaโ€™s call came in.

โ€œStefi, Iโ€™m telling you, I really canโ€™t do it,โ€ Ella said.

Stephanie asked, โ€œWhat canโ€™t you do?โ€

โ€œThey want me to physically cool Lorenzo down. Everyone around him has run away, leaving him to me, and they even said I should check on him in the middle of the night to see if he has a fever,โ€ Ella said.

At this point, Ella completely lost her calm. โ€œIs this something Iโ€™m capable of doing?โ€ โ€˜Are Lorenzoโ€™s men speaking without thinking? How can they ask me to wipe Lorenzoโ€™s entire body?โ€™ she thought. โ€œItโ€™s just a fever. Is it really that troublesome?โ€ Ella went on.

Stephanie was silent. Faced with Ellaโ€™s rapid-fire complaints, she couldnโ€™t get a word in. Before Stephanie could say anything, Ella continued, โ€œWhatโ€™s even worse is that he took off my clothes for the same reason the night before last. Is that necessary? Is there no hospital in Fiorenza or something?โ€

โ€œNow Iโ€™m supposed to take care of him the same way. How could they do this to me?โ€ Ella was completely furious. She paced back and forth in the hall, her mouth going non-stop.

Stephanie was taken aback. She didnโ€™t know exactly what had happened. But judging from Ellaโ€™s reaction, it seemed like things were getting a bit out of control with her being around Lorenzo. She coughed lightly. โ€œIf Lorenzo is injured, he might have a fever at night. You can give him some fever-reducing medicine first. If that doesnโ€™t workโ€ฆโ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s even worse,โ€ Ella interrupted as soon as Stephanie finished speaking, โ€œHeโ€™s not short of money, is he?โ€

Stephanie replied, โ€œNo, heโ€™s not.โ€

โ€œThen why doesnโ€™t he hire a servant? If heโ€™s not short of money, he can afford more than one servant, right?โ€ Ella said.

Stรฉphanie said, โ€œYouโ€™re right.โ€

โ€œSo why didnโ€™t he hire some servants?โ€ Ella really didnโ€™t understand. Now he had even dismissed the cook. โ€˜What is he thinking? Does he want to treat me like a free nanny?โ€™ she thought.

Those were all minor issues. But what he did tonight was really too much. It seemed that because he had taken care of her the night before last, he now expected her to return the favor in the same way.

Stephanie explained, โ€œBecause the young and pretty ones would try to seduce him.โ€ It seemed that was how the previous maids had been fired.

Ella suggested, โ€œThen hire older, less attractive ones.โ€

โ€œThose might be assassins!โ€ Stephanie said.

That was true. Ella fell silent.

โ€œLorenzo has run into this kind of situation a few times before,โ€ Stephanie said. โ€œHe got so annoyed that he started keeping to himself.โ€

That was the reason why, in all of Lorenzoโ€™s villas, there were only hourly workers on a regular basis. He didnโ€™t want to have too much contact with people who had ulterior motives.

โ€œSo tonight, itโ€™s me who has to take care of him, right?โ€ Ella asked.

โ€œYeah,โ€ Stephanie replied. โ€œIf nothing goes wrong, you do need to take care of him.โ€

Ella fell silent. โ€œIf nothing goes wrongโ€โ€”she suddenly hated hearing those four words.

โ€œCanโ€™t you just send someone over?โ€ she asked, feeling exasperated. Stephanie was the little princess of the Lucano family; sending someone over should have been as easy as saying a word.

โ€œUm, Iโ€™m afraid that wonโ€™t work,โ€ Stephanie said, sounding a bit embarrassed.

Ella was taken aback. โ€˜What did she mean?โ€™

โ€œWhy does it sound so difficult to send a servant over?โ€ Ella asked.
