Chapter 441
Stephanie had completely lost her patience, rolling her eyes at Chris and shutting the car door. She told the driver, โDrive. Thereโs no point in wasting breath or time talking to someone so disconnected. Their minds werenโt even on the same wavelength.โ
The driver nodded. โOkay.โ Just as the car started, the driver suddenly said, โMiss, sir is back.โ
Stephanie looked up and glanced out the windshield. Just as she recognized Sebastianโs car, there was a loud bang as Chrisโs car was hit and shoved aside. That was Sebastianโs styleโalways getting things done efficiently. Stephanie got out of the car without giving Chris another look and headed straight to Sebastianโs car.
Sebastian stepped out of the car as well, exuding a fierce presence. He gave Chris a dangerous look. โItโs unusual to see you here, butโฆโ Sebastian glanced at the car that had been hit. โI donโt like my territory being invaded. Next time, pay attention to the road and avoid making this mistake again.โ Sebastian emphasized the last four words heavily.
Chris was shaking with anger. He glanced at Stephanie, who was now standing calmly next to Sebastian. Right in front of him, they were holding hands without any hint of shame. Chrisโs eyes were locked on their joined hands, a sharp, choking pain gripping his heart.
Stephanie said, โI have a lunch date with Allison. Letโs go.โ She didnโt want to waste time on Chris and was ready to leave.
Sebastian lovingly pinched Stephanieโs nose before guiding her into the car. The car drove off, leaving Chris standing there as the cold wind cut into him. It was very cold, but the ache in his heart was even colder.
Thoughts flitted through his mind about when Stephanie had said โhateโ earlier. Her tone was full of sarcasm when she mentioned hating him, as if she was mocking him for being naive. She didnโt hate himโshe felt nothing at all. Their relationship lasted for two years, and it meant nothing to her.
In the car, Stephanie was sitting on Sebastianโs lap, fidgeting a bit. โI want to sit by myself.โ Whenever they were alone, he loved to hold her. Looking back now, it seemed like Sebastian had been holding her since she was a child. His broad palm grasped her slightly chubby waist.
โAre you mad?โ asked Stephanie.
Sebastian didnโt answer her.
โIt wasnโt me who sought him out; he came to me,โ Stephanie said, sounding pitiful.
Sebastian asked, โHavenโt you learned how to handle them yet?โ For irrelevant people, Sebastian always advised her not to pay them much mind and to avoid wasting time. If something could be solved with force, then use force.
Stephanieโs eyebrow twitched. โI was just about to push through when you arrived. Wait, didnโt you say you were coming back this afternoon?โ
