No matter what Lorenzo said, Ella refused to go. Lorenzo squinted slightly as he looked at her. “It’s not up to you.” Ella’s already nervous heart became even more unsettled upon hearing Lorenzo’s words. Now she couldn’t eat or drink anything.

Lorenzo checked the time on his watch and then looked at the clothes Ella was wearing. “I’ll give you ten minutes to change and put on some makeup.”

Ella cried, “Stefi, help me.”

Stephanie thought, ‘Has being around Lorenzo made her so timid? Where did her former confidence go? Get it back. She’s as nervous as a kitten now.’

Ella said, “Lorenzo is taking me somewhere, and he said it might be dangerous. Stefi, you have to save me; I really don’t want to go through that again.” Just thinking about what happened those two times made Ella feel like she was pushing herself too hard.
