Chapter 428

Ellaโ€™s question choked Stephanie. She really didnโ€™t dare deal with Lorenzo. She said bluntly, โ€œI canโ€™t do it.โ€ Even with Sebastian backing her, there were some people Stephanie just couldnโ€™t mess with, especially those close to Sebastian. She knew very well whom she could and couldnโ€™t provoke.

Ella cried even harder. โ€œStefi, youโ€™re not helping me.โ€

โ€œAh, itโ€™s not that; I just donโ€™t dare.โ€

Ella cried loudly. โ€œHe didnโ€™t do anything to you, did he?โ€ Stephanie asked cautiously.

Sofia always had reliable information. Since she had talked with Stephanie about Lorenzoโ€™s impotence, Stephanie believed it was the truth.

Ella whimpered, โ€œDidnโ€™t you say he was harmless? How could he do anything to me?โ€ Lying on the bed, Ella glanced instinctively at the door as soon as she spoke.

Earlier, she had promised that if Lorenzo helped her get through her trouble, she would stop talking about othersโ€™ gossip. She thought, โ€˜I am just mentioning it to Stefi; it wonโ€™t hurt. Besides, the door is locked.โ€™

Stephanie said, โ€œExactly. So if he didnโ€™t actually do anything to you, why are you crying? Crying like this makes me overthink.โ€

Ella said, โ€œWell, he saw me naked. How could I not cry? Heโ€™s uncouth, and Iโ€™m still an unmarried, decent woman!โ€

Stephanie said, โ€œTrue, that makes sense.โ€

Ella moaned even more loudly.

Stephanie offered, โ€œHow about I send someone to bring you to the Giovanni family?โ€

โ€œThe Giovanni family?โ€ Ellaโ€™s crying stopped abruptly.

Stephanie said, โ€œYeah, youโ€™re being hunted everywhere you go now. I thought youโ€™d be safe with Lorenzo, but it seems like youโ€™re not happy with him.โ€

Ella was really upset. Lorenzo was always so cold; his stare was as scary as a wolfโ€™s eyes. Just one more look made her heart shake. โ€œSo the foster mom who raised you, Mrs. Lucano, she lives there too, right?โ€

โ€œOf course.โ€

Though everyone in Fiorenza habitually called Lottie Mrs. Lucano, she was actually the head of the Giovanni family. The way of addressing people in Fiorenza was different from what Ella was used to. Before Lottie got married, everyone called her Ms. Lucano, and now it was Mrs. Lucano.

Ella said, โ€œThen Iโ€™m not going.โ€

โ€œWhy?โ€

โ€œYou know, I donโ€™t have much experience dealing with older people,โ€ Ella said with some sadness in her voice. She grew up in a single-parent family, and her mom, who raised her, only did the basicsโ€”raising her. They rarely spent time together. As for grandpas, grandmas, and the like, unfortunately, Ella didnโ€™t have any of those either. She only had Andrea.

Stephanie reassured, โ€œShe is great, easy to get along with.โ€

โ€œYeah, even in Long Harbor, Iโ€™ve heard about her frightening reputation.โ€

Stephanie couldnโ€™t retort. Lottie was definitely resourceful. But her skills were used on opponents and enemies, not on family and friends.

Ella said, โ€œAnyway, Iโ€™m not going.โ€

Stephanie asked, โ€œThen you should stay by Lorenzoโ€™s side.โ€

Ella felt stressed. Being around elders, especially the amazing Lottie that Stephanie talked about, made her feel tense. And being next to Lorenzo, her heart kept pounding from the pressure.
