Chapter 418

When Stephanie put down her phone, the waiter served the ice cream. Stephanie hadnโ€™t had ice cream in a long time. Previously, Sebastian always worried sheโ€™d feel unwell and would only let her have a couple of bites.

As she enjoyed her treat, she asked Allison, โ€œWhat did Ella just say?โ€

Allison replied, โ€œShe said that Amber took off with the money, and now the entire Hart family is in chaos.โ€

Stephanie coughed and choked at Allisonโ€™s reply. She looked at Allison in shock. โ€œAmber took off with the money? Seriously?โ€

Allison said, โ€œItโ€™s definitely true.โ€

Stephanieโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief.

Allison continued, โ€œApparently, she took all of Tylerโ€™s money, and Chad also pulled out the remaining funds from the company.โ€

Stephanie remained shocked.

Allison sighed, โ€œNow a Hartโ€™s hand is injured, another Hart is sickly, and the last Hart doesnโ€™t earn any money. They screwed up. I used to think maybe I could get a few million out of them, but it turns out thereโ€™s no money at all.โ€

When mentioning money, there was a hint of resentment in Allisonโ€™s tone. After all, she had spun such a big story for the Hart family. In the end, she got nothing.

Stephanie asked, โ€œAre they really so broke?โ€ She still found it hard to believe. After all, the Hart family in Long Harbor used to have some assets. How can they suddenly not have millions?

Allison scoffed, โ€œThen Amber swooped in and completely drained their last resources.โ€

Stephanie believed Amber had that power. Amber was no joke. She was determined to marry into a rich family, right from the start, by having Tylerโ€™s child.

Since Amber had been in jail for a few days, with her sharp mind, she must have figured something out. She knew she had nothing more to gain, so she took the money and left.

โ€œItโ€™s certain that Olivia wonโ€™t be able to make it through this,โ€ Stephanie said.

Allison nodded. โ€œAbsolutely, itโ€™s karma.โ€ Olivia was so arrogant before and almost got Stephanie killed.

When talking about the Hart family, Allisonโ€™s tone was full of satisfaction. โ€œItโ€™s really gratifying; now the whole Hart family is the laughingstock of Long Harbor. You have no idea how much Catlin used to brag, acting like she was better than everyone else. Well, now things have changed, and all those wealthy ladies she used to look down on are now laughing at her.โ€

That was the truth. When the Hart family was thriving, Catlin couldnโ€™t wait to step on everyone. But now, the tables had turned.

After they finished eating, Sebastian hadnโ€™t called yet, so Allison suggested they go shopping together.

Stephanie looked at her watch and saw it was almost eight. โ€œIs Yanis okay with that?โ€

Stephanie knew how possessive Yanis was with Allison. He wanted to take her everywhere, even trying to get her to quit her hospital job just to have her close by, bringing her to work if he could.

Stephanie and Allison had been out for over two hours, and Yanis hadnโ€™t called to hurry Allison back. Before, he would call almost as soon as Stephanie and Allison sat down. But now, Allison suggested they go shopping together.

Hearing Yanisโ€™s name, Allisonโ€™s face changed. โ€œThe Lewis family dinner is tonight.โ€

Stephanie instantly got the picture. The Lewis family situation was complicated, and both Yanisโ€™s mom and aunt didnโ€™t like Allison.

Allison grew up in the Lewis family. Besides Yanis, who always looked out for her, no one else genuinely liked her. She always kept her distance during those family dinners.

Stephanie turned around and hugged Allison.

Allison smiled, โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€

But Stephanie could clearly hear the bitterness in Allisonโ€™s voice. โ€œSince Darian passed away, Sharon doesnโ€™t even pretend anymore.โ€

When Darian Lewis, Yanisโ€™s father, was alive, Sharon Lewis, Yanisโ€™s mother, pretended to be nice to Allison. Now Sharon didnโ€™t even bother to hide her disdain toward Allison.

Allison shrugged. โ€œI donโ€™t care. Itโ€™s not like I owe them anything.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s true.โ€ Stephanie nodded.

Allisonโ€™s life was hard. Her father was originally the driver for the Lewis family. He died in an accident while saving Darian. Allison was only five years old at the time.

Out of appreciation for her fatherโ€™s heroic act, Darian took Allison into their family. But for some reason, Sharon and Yanisโ€™s aunt never took to her. Even with her fatherโ€™s sacrifice, they just didnโ€™t like her.

Allison wasnโ€™t one to just let it go. Theyโ€™d give her attitude, and sheโ€™d dish it right back.

Allison suddenly said, โ€œOh, by the way, I bought a house.โ€
