Chapter 396

Sieplanie felt her mouth twitch. She glanced at Macro, then at Sebastian, her mind spinning with confusion. What did Lorenzo mean? Is it what I think it is? No, thatโ€™s too fast! Is Ella on board with this? Thereโ€™s no way she would have been willing, especially in a situation like this. So what the heck does it all mean? she thought.

Macro took a sharp breath. โ€œLorenzo, youโ€™re something else. Did Ms. Turner really manage to get your pantsโ€”โ€

โ€œIf you say another word, I promise your mouth wonโ€™t last till tomorrow,โ€ Lorenzoโ€™s icy threat interrupted before Macro could finish speaking.

Macro shot up instantly. โ€œNo, Lorenzo, what do you mean by that? Was Ella willing?โ€ Stephanie asked anxiously.

But before Lorenzo could respond, Ellaโ€™s cries came through. โ€œStefi, you must save me. I didnโ€™t come here willingly. I almost died. Iโ€™m scaredโ€”โ€

Suddenly, the call ended.

Stephanie and Macro looked directly at Sebastian. โ€œSebastian, you heard it all, right? Ella didnโ€™t do it voluntarily,โ€ Stephanie said, panicking.

Macro echoed, โ€œLorenzo is such a jerk. Heโ€™s only met Ms. Turner a few times and already treats her like that.โ€

He thought, โ€œElla was really bold that time at Shallow Bay. But Stephanie said that Ella didnโ€™t mean to do it and had no bad intentions.โ€

Stephanie seldom agreed with Macro, but this time, she nodded. โ€œYeah, you canโ€™t treat Ella like that. Didnโ€™t you hear how she cried on the phone earlier?โ€ Ellaโ€™s voice was full of fear, as if Lorenzo had actually done something terrible.

Sebastian rubbed his aching forehead, remaining silent.

โ€œSebastian,โ€ Stephanie called in a begging tone, shaking his arm urgently. She was worried sick about Ella.

Sebastian replied, โ€œRelax, Lorenzo knows his limits.โ€

โ€œThen how did he scare Ella like that?โ€ Stephanie retorted. Lorenzo has no limits at all. Ella definitely shouldnโ€™t stay around Lorenzo; she might really get scared.

Macro nodded. โ€œYeah, just look how scared she is.โ€

Sebastian gave Macro a look, and Macro turned around with his bowl while saying, โ€œIโ€™m just speaking the truth.โ€

Sebastian kicked at him. If Macro hadnโ€™t dodged quickly, with the force Sebastian used, that kick would have sent both him and the bowl crashing to the ground.

As Sebastian got angry, Stephanie glanced at Macro and said, โ€œYou stay quiet. His mouth was giving everyone a headache.โ€

Macro felt wronged. โ€˜Didnโ€™t you say Lorenzo is over the top, too?

Stephanie clung to Sebastianโ€™s arm. โ€œHelp Ella out, wonโ€™t you?โ€

Ella had seemed brave in Long Harbor, but sheโ€™d never faced a situation like this before. Stephanie understood how someone inexperienced could completely break down when confronted with such intense circumstances. When Stephanie first witnessed Sebastian kill someone, it had traumatized her for months.

Sebastian couldnโ€™t withstand her persistence. Given how Ella had taken good care of Stephanie back in Long Harbor, he eventually made another call to Lorenzo.

Lorenzo answered, โ€œHey, Sebastian.โ€

โ€œBe gentle with that girl,โ€ Sebastian said.

โ€œHow can I be gentle in a scene like that?โ€ Lorenzo replied, almost reflexively. It was like Sebastian was asking the impossible.

Stephanie and Macro couldnโ€™t understand Lorenzoโ€™s straightforward comment. A scene like that? What is it?

Stephanie glanced at Sebastian, who couldnโ€™t stand her gaze. โ€œJust, donโ€™t scare her, okay?โ€ he said.

Lorenzo explained helplessly, โ€œIt wasnโ€™t me who scared her.โ€ Ella just couldnโ€™t handle the scene.

โ€œWell, sheโ€ฆโ€ Stephanie wanted to ask how Ella had ended up under Lorenzo, but the words caught in her throat.

Lorenzo said, โ€œStefi, donโ€™t pick up Macroโ€™s way of talking.โ€
