Chapter 388

When Sebastian came in, he saw Stephanie on the phone, one of her legs sticking out from under the covers. It was probably because the room was warm, and she had kicked the blanket off after he left. Without a word, he walked over and covered her up properly.

โ€œAlright, thatโ€™s it,โ€ Stephanie said into the phone. She didnโ€™t care how chaotic the Hart residence was at this point. As long as they werenโ€™t having a good time, that was all that mattered.

Noticing her slight smile, Sebastian chuckled. โ€œIs it something about the Hart family?โ€

โ€œYeah, Allison sold them some outrageously expensive medicine. Iโ€™m guessing the Hart family is in chaos right now,โ€ Stephanie said.

Without Amber, theyโ€™d be running around like crazy about getting money. With Amber, theyโ€™d still be scrambling, but now over who got the money. The Hart family must be in pure chaos at this point.

Sebastian placed his broad hand on the back of Stephanieโ€™s head, resting it against her forehead. โ€œStefi, youโ€™re just too kind-hearted.โ€

To him, the Hart family deserved a brutal punishment. But since they were her blood relatives, Sebastian couldnโ€™t do anything without her permission. Now, however, the entire family was surrounded and locked down. The physical torment and endless internal struggle seemed pretty much the same.

โ€œWith her body already in such bad shape, thereโ€™s nothing I even need to do,โ€ Stephanie said.

Originally, if Allison hadnโ€™t mentioned Oliviaโ€™s poor health, Stephanie would definitely have stepped in. But after learning about Oliviaโ€™s actual condition, Stephanie decided she didnโ€™t need to do anything.

โ€œExactly, and no need for dirty work,โ€ Sebastian said.

โ€œTotally,โ€ Stephanie nodded.

Sebastian looked at her and couldnโ€™t resist giving her a gentle kiss. โ€œDoes it feel better after using that ointment earlier?โ€

โ€œWhat do you want?โ€ Stephanie asked suspiciously.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry; I wonโ€™t do anything.โ€ Sebastian reassured her. The doctor had said Stephanie needed to rest and take care of her health during this time. Until she was fully recovered, they couldnโ€™t make out.

Stephanie didnโ€™t believe him and grabbed Sebastianโ€™s shirt collar. โ€œSwear it.โ€

The man caught her warm little hand and couldnโ€™t help but give it a squeeze. โ€œYeah, I swear.โ€

Stephanie quickly pulled her hand back and mumbled complaints, still unwilling to believe anything.

In Fiorenza, Ella stepped off the plane with empty hands, accompanied by Emily. As they walked toward the exit, Emilyโ€™s eyes darted around nervously, scanning the crowd with a wary expression. Since sheโ€™d picked Ella up in Long Harbor, Emily had been on high alert, as if expecting trouble at every turn. Now, even in Fiorenza, her tension hadnโ€™t eased.

Ella couldnโ€™t help but lean over and whisper in Emilyโ€™s ear, โ€œWeโ€™re in Fiorenza now. Can you relax a bit?โ€

Emily glanced at her. โ€œWe need to get to the manor quickly,โ€ she replied, her voice tight with urgency.

Ella raised an eyebrow. โ€œAnd then? Youโ€™re not planning to keep me cooped up inside, are you?โ€ She couldnโ€™t help but feel a little exasperated. Emilyโ€™s cautious demeanor suggested that she might indeed try to restrict Ellaโ€™s movements.

Emily nodded, continuing Ellaโ€™s fears. โ€œMs. Turner said we have to stay in the manor on Mount Red until we hear from her.โ€

Ella forced a bitter smile and felt a growing sense of unease. โ€œWhat on earth happened to Mom?โ€

โ€œLetโ€™s go,โ€ Emily said, urging her to move faster.

The airport wasnโ€™t the place for a conversation. With one hand clutching her bag and the other pushing Ella gently but firmly, Emily hurried them along.

But despite her vigilance, trouble found them anyway. As they passed a restroom entrance, two men with caps pulled low over their eyes glared at them, their gazes sharp and menacing.
